Quick format SD card

According to the manual quick format of the SD card is performed by pressing delete and the rear command dial.

Doesn't work with me.

Anyone else same problem ?

Delete first and then command dial, while keeping delete button pressed.

You need to hold the delete button for about a second then press the back command dial for it to work. I suppose that prevent accidentally pressing both buttons together and formatting a card.

Got my second XPro2 (backup) body and had the same problem but eventually it worked out

I pressed the command dial slightly angled, if pressed dead centre I was able to enter the format menu

Works for me but I pressed pretty hard on the rear command dial.

Press the Delete button and hold it down for three seconds. Then, while still pressing the Delete button, click in the rear command dial. You should get a menu asking you which slot to format if you have cards in both slots.

the trick is indeed to be patient for three seconds while pressing the delete button

There is a few things you cannot put in "my menu", and format is sadly enough one of them. I cannot see why they have put this limitation to my menu, but then this is the first iteration of the new UI and I reckon it will be adjusted and refined over time.

The camera should be in Play mode when you attempt to Format with the buttons.

The camera can be in Playback or Shooting mode to use the Format shortcut. It makes no difference.
