  1. For Fujifilm, the only choices are the 100-400 and the 50-140. The 100-400 isn't too quick a lens so you may have to get used to that. It's a great lens, sharp with excellent reach.
  2. Ok. I get the picture now. Attended a video briefing years ago and yes, like what you said, they lower the contrast. Some of them drastically so. I guess for the lack of the contrast setting, you may bump up shadows and pull the highlight down a notch or two. Whatever you do, don't sharpen until after every thing is done. Some suggest a preset layer mask to give that cinematic cross process which may help. I'm not sure how they do it exactly but I think there's some info on the net,
  3. It may help if you post a pic of two on what you mean by "neutral" look vis a vis a not so neutral look.
  4. It would seem so on several occasions. I can say it happens a lot with the xf60 macro! even though it is for close objects! I notice it happens more if we use a wider focusing square. And I can say for sure it happens to the Nikon D7000.
  5. This is an amazing piece of time lapse video work. The sheer work alone to achieve this is breath taking. https://vimeo.com/169993072
  6. It's not in most cases. It also depends on which lens you use it with. One thing sorely missed is AF Servo and face tracking. Useful when photographing moving object. So, with Pro1, one has to revert to pre focusing like on a manual lens sometimes.
  7. I've never seen the innards of the xpro2 and it's unlikely they have a fan in there but I could be wrong. There has been some complaints of it getting really warm. There are however lots of moving electro-mechanical parts in there. Servos, actuators and plenty of solenoids. Hopefully non is working overtime in yours. It'll be good to do more tests to confirm that your is making noise and perhaps have Fuji take a look too....or listen.
  8. X-T1. It also depends on the lens attached.
  9. Nice Pics. Is it the angle of your shots or is your horizon dipping on the right? It's in all your shots...
  10. What lens is attached to the xpro2?
  11. Enjoy the X-Pro1. It's just as good.
  12. Limited On board ram memory?
  13. Which Leica do you shoot with?
  14. Did you happen to try thr X-T1 and X-Pro2 again?
  15. For the price it's great. Reasonably sharp wide and only sharp at F2.8 onwards, sharpest at F4.....and falls after F8. Gets soft after F11.
  16. To be fair, netizens don't take too kindly to very personal opinions. It can happen to anyone.
  17. More than enough. I've had to turn down the power. I was on 18, 35 and 56mm back lit. No issue. If you want more power, you may want to wait for the Nissin i60 or Fujifilm's ef-x500. The latter is big... I've never needed more power shooting bounce or direct.
  18. I'm drooling... .......Emily Soto did a series with the Petzval Art. I think the results speak for itself. https://www.lomography.com/magazine/310567-another-petzval-series-with-talented-photographer-emily-soto
  19. May I add that it could be a case of customizing the camera to reflect a style that the owner feels good and love using. I've attended art school a bit and students are thought to express themselves through their work. Perhaps making a "vintage" looking camera is OP's way of expressing his style. Afterall, he did say he's into model making. We haven't seen what he/she looks like. It is somewhat odd to see a shiny looking camera hanging around a rugged looking person. It's like how some people prefer Hawkesmill bags instead of Chrome Niko Backpack or More casual Domke. Somehow, out of these three you may find one which will find reflect your style and feel happy using. Does it say anything about your personality? Probably yes. Does it show your intent? Probably not. I'm really a Hawkesmill guy but I bought the Chrome Niko Backpack as it was more practical for what I intend to do. Don't judge.
  20. Like this? This guy couldn't sell his camera even after one year of posting!
  21. I knew a mixed heritage Caucasian/Chinese girl once who used to dye her hair black so that she looks like the rest of her school mates. No one knew she was a blonde. A rich kid in my school who used to step on his own new shoes so that they appear worn. He's gone on to become one of the most generous person I know to date. We live in an imposing world. People just like to impose on others. The trick is to stop letting people impose on us and more importantly, stop imposing on others.
  22. Wow....I kinda prefer the uncorrected version. The corrected one just makes me dizzy!
  23. The Nissin i40 works very well. LumoPro LP180 for manual strobes offsite and a beauty dish/soft box works wonders.
