This was my first time back out in a long while.  Ended up being a pretty fun shoot once I managed to get around the Zoolander moments.  I'd also recommend checking the full size out on Flickr to better see the rendering.

I miss my old X-Pro1.  Heck I miss all my Fuji cameras.  This was from one of the first times I really experimented with manually control and making a conscious effort to work with natural lighting while on a photo walk.

Finally picked up the xf56 to throw on my X-E1.  I'm in love with this lens.  Here's a candid I snapped while doing a family portrait session with my coworker and her brothers.

I'd also try setting the sharpness in the settings to a +1 value and see if that helps if it's just slightly soft.  I'm using the 50mm f1.8 on my x-e1 as well and that's what I ended up doing.  Here are some examples

My vote is for the 27mm.  It's the perfect inconspicuous street lens.  If you want a street portraiture lens I'd move more towards the 23mm.  Here are some of my shots with the X-E2 paired with the 27mm.

This was her first time having portrait work done and although she was a little closed off at first, she later began to open up and become much more relaxed and enjoyed the shoot. We later were able to incorporate her dance/ballet moves into the shoot.

I just started shooting with a Canon fd 50mm f1.8.  I also have the 135mm f2.8 but haven't had a chance to try it out yet.  Looking forward to trying it out soon though!

For some reason these two things are sticking in my head.

    1) Fixed Lens Full Frame Rangefinder - which would be the big brother to the x100 series.  Would an x200 series have it's own subforum or be merged with the x100 series?  If this was to come true then I think it would warrant it's own forum.
    2) Medium Format Rangefinder - The digital successor to the GW-690!  This one is way more of a long shot in my mind.  We don't have any lenses that would work on a MF sensor (as far as I know).  Again we haven't really seen anything about new lenses geared towards a sensor this size or appropriate lenses.

I don't know how popular this opinion is, but I'd love a rangefinder-style with a fixed 50mm equivalent, say 2.8 with a leaf shutter. This is probably unrealistic, but if they could do that for around the $2000 mark, I'd to everything I could to buy one. I normally prefer 35mm, but 50mm is still good for an every day focal length, and it's tight enough for me that I can do headshots with it, too.

A guy can dream. It'll probably be $8k minimum, if the Pentax 645z is anything to go by.

I agree that the jump between Fuji's awesome APS-C and FF doesn't seem enough to warrant a new system - as opposed to maybe medium format.

I would guess medium format with a fixed lens (medium format x100): fuji get to develop their new sensor and check out the market response without having to come up with a whole lens system at first - only one.
