  1. X-E2 + 35mm 1.4 1. KC Portrait Session-22 by dacalac, on Flickr 2. KC Portrait Session-17 by dacalac, on Flickr 3. KC Portrait Session-19 by dacalac, on Flickr This was my first time back out in a long while. Ended up being a pretty fun shoot once I managed to get around the Zoolander moments. I'd also recommend checking the full size out on Flickr to better see the rendering.
  2. Finally picked up the xf56 to throw on my X-E1. I'm in love with this lens. Here's a candid I snapped while doing a family portrait session with my coworker and her brothers. Casillas Sibling Shoot-4 by dacalac, on Flickr
  3. I'd also try setting the sharpness in the settings to a +1 value and see if that helps if it's just slightly soft. I'm using the 50mm f1.8 on my x-e1 as well and that's what I ended up doing. Here are some examples Portland-15 by dacalac, on Flickr Portland-50 by dacalac, on Flickr
  4. Has anyone used the Holdfast Moneymakers? I'm looking at picking them up for wedding use. X-E1 + 23mm on one and the X-E2 + 56mm on the other. I love the look of them especially for a dual camera setup. I feel it would be a bit easier to blend in with a wedding crowd in these versus some of the other nylon and mesh straps. http://holdfastgear.com/products/money-maker-luxury-leather-multi-camera-strap

  6. X-E1 + Canon FD 50mm f1.8 This was her first time having portrait work done and although she was a little closed off at first, she later began to open up and become much more relaxed and enjoyed the shoot. We later were able to incorporate her dance/ballet moves into the shoot. 7. I'll try to shoot some with my Canon 135mm f2.8 lens before it sells with my AE-1. I haven't dealt with a focal length like this and haven't found much use for it so far.
  8. My vote is for the 27mm. It's the perfect inconspicuous street lens. If you want a street portraiture lens I'd move more towards the 23mm. Here are some of my shots with the X-E2 paired with the 27mm. untitled-31 by dacalac, on Flickr untitled-39 by dacalac, on Flickr untitled-29 by dacalac, on Flickr untitled-33 by dacalac, on Flickr
  9. I just started shooting with a Canon fd 50mm f1.8. I also have the 135mm f2.8 but haven't had a chance to try it out yet. Looking forward to trying it out soon though! untitled-40 by dacalac, on Flickr untitled-25 by dacalac, on Flickr untitled-5 by dacalac, on Flickr
  10. The original Fuji MF camera was $1,474USD in 1985. Adjuster for inflation that would be $3,288 if priced today. I could see a price hovering around $4k-$5k for the body.
  11. Here's their old MF Rangefinder (the GW690iii with an M6) Kinda looks like an X-Pro1 on steroids.
  12. Announcement thread here: http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/topic/259-let%E2%80%99s-drop-the-rumor-bomb-fujifilm-is-forging-a-medium-format-camera-source-right-in-past/ It's a medium format camera. We should probably close this thread out. =)
  13. Score!! So this will be the digital successor to the GW690? http://camerapedia.wikia.com/wiki/Fujica_GW690 https://www.flickr.com/groups/fuji-gw690/pool/
  14. For some reason these two things are sticking in my head. 1) Fixed Lens Full Frame Rangefinder - which would be the big brother to the x100 series. Would an x200 series have it's own subforum or be merged with the x100 series? If this was to come true then I think it would warrant it's own forum. 2) Medium Format Rangefinder - The digital successor to the GW-690! This one is way more of a long shot in my mind. We don't have any lenses that would work on a MF sensor (as far as I know). Again we haven't really seen anything about new lenses geared towards a sensor this size or appropriate lenses.
  15. Thank you very much! I was trying to emulate some of the stuff I've seen from the early stuff from Rinzi Ruiz (https://instagram.com/rinzizen/). Really love his use and play of light and shadow. This was just my toe in the water and although I like the look of it, it really doesn't feel like it's "me" if that makes any sense.
  16. Agreed. This would have to be a completely new camera so a X-???? There was a quote further back in the thread where someone mentioned that the rumored X-Pro 2 was going to get a new name instead being called the X-Pro 2. This is what I'm betting my money on. That being said, I would absolutely LOVE to be surprised with a completely new system that no one saw coming. Seeing how great Patrick is staying on top of the rumor mill though, I doubt we'd be completely blindsided. =)
  17. once I get back into the Fuji system my goal is to have the following xf23mm xf27mm xf56mm xf50-140mm Covers street, portrait, and event work. I say that now but I know once I'm back in.....

X-Pro 1 and the xf35mm This isn't a good portrait by any means but this photo made me fall in love with the camera. I was a bit on the fence before but for some reason this shot in particular was the one that sold me on the system. Investigator 1 by dacalac, on Flickr
  19. I miss my old X-Pro1. Heck I miss all my Fuji cameras. This was from one of the first times I really experimented with manually control and making a conscious effort to work with natural lighting while on a photo walk.
