  1. After posting the question I made some research by myself and came on the same wiki page. I think you are right, because searching for an adapter on amazon I see that, for example FE to FX or PK to FX are much more narrow, and in those case the difference is only 0.3mm and 10mm respectively By the way... I opened this thread not only for me, so if someone want to share suggestion on other lenses he's wellcome
  2. I agree with you milandro, if one is looking for best performance and best of the tecnology this is not what will make you happy. For me at the moment it is just a cheap way to try to experiment with ma X-T1 since I am a student with no money XD Want I to buy the incredible 16mm f/1.4 or the 35? YES totally can I afford them now? NO totally but I have 25 € to buy one of this old lenses that wouldn't give me the great performance of fuji glass, but will deliver some nice shot till I wait for a job and more money and I got that going for me, which is nice [cit.] By the way... today I went out for shopping and found this beauty in a flea market, zenit 12xp + helios 44M-4 for for a really cheap price tried it with bulb pose and both seams to work, at the moment I am not very interested in the camera, so I will probably sell it soon and get an adapter for the lens. By the way, maybe it's a stupid question but, why adapters M42 to fuji X are so thick with respect to other adapters?

This are some shots from an oriental festival that took place here in Torino about two month ago #1 #2 #3 they are some of the first image I took with my camera and some of the very first at all, so feel free to comment and point out errors
  4. @casa : thank you, this was exacly what I had in mind and the helios effect is something really interesting
  5. Reading the other threads in this section I have started to thinking about getting some old, cheap lenses in flea markets here in my city, to play with. But since I am a total noob in the topic I thought it will be nice to have a place here on the forum where people can post and read of hints & tips about the second-hand lens's market. For example what you need to check before you buy an old lens, what types of adapters or other stuff you could need, if some lenses need to be modified in order to be used on a digital fuji and other thigs like this. Feel free to recommend some lens you love or that has a strange special effect you like, maybe adding some hints on the price to expect and some photos taken with it. Your experience will be really usefull to many of us
  6. me, my X-T1..... and my girlfriend
  7. One of the first books on photography I read was "The art of photography" from Bruce Barnbaum. It's centerd mostly over the analogue side, but it's still a really good book and offer many usefull hints.
  8. I don't know about the 4K... speaking for me, I purchased the X-T1 to make photos and in 5 months haven't touched that red dot one time. Leaf shutter, again, there are pros and cons, first of all the maximum shutter speed. I'm happy with what I have now, even better will be a global shutter. Agree on the IBIS, it would be great, but the camera cost will be even higher than now.
  9. Indeed it was a pretty clear explanation. Thanks!
  10. But if the sensitivity doesn't change between ISO 1600/3200/6400, how could the camera then produce an even exposure? Since I am into photography I read about the "exposure triangle", aperture - times - ISO Now, if rising the ISO value, say from 1600 to 3200, doesn't almplify the signal, how can we see the results we see? I am genuinely curious
  11. I agree with citral, there were other little errors in roadmap pictures before, and I think this is the case
  12. aceflibble where did you read about this "ISO-less" characteristic of the Xtrans sensor? Onestly this is the first time I hear about it
  13. :D Although a medium format camera isn't realy for me at the moment I would be really pleased to try one at some time in the future. How many euros do you think it will cost?
  14. I hadn't noticed the words under x-axis, now it's more clear
  15. 16, 23 and 35 indeed... At first I was skeptical about the results, but probably the difference is due to the stop advantage of the three over the 90mm, which at lower distances overcome the focal lenght advantage. I am curious of hearing an explanation of the phenomenon by someone more practical on the argument
  16. I agree with x-tc, with the new fw coming soon and and all the eyes and minds on the new X-PRO I don't think we will see the new iteration of the X-T serie very soon. Think of how many years has it been from the lauching of the X-PRO1 to the X-PRO2. OK, Fuji's guys were developing a brand new sensor for the next flagship and from the rumors that i read it's the main reason why the X-PRO2 isn't on the market yet. And almost certainly they will use the same sensor on the new X-T2, so no sources of delay on that front. Said that, we want see the X-T2 in 2015 IMHO.

#2 of the second serie is a realy good shot
  18. As an owner (and lover) of an X-T1 I would totaly go for the X-T2... even if the X-PRO2 will have something more in the speks I will still go for the X-T2. One thing that I really love of my X-T1 is its look (and the EVF), but beyond that there's somthing in this camera that the other cameras the I used simply don't have.
  19. I've already read of this problem in aerospace electronics and also studied something about it since it is a (big) part of my studies. I agree that it could represent an issue (between the other hundreds) over the life span of an optics, but something that people must understand is that nothing of the electronics designed for commercial use is mean to last more than 10/15 years, you can have durability or performance, but not both. In fact NASA and other space companies use for their purposes chips that are 10/20 years old in the ideas and structure, but which are more reliable than today's technology That said it can last (many) more, or (many) less than that. As you said, if you want something that will last for decades the only choise is to go full manual, without electronic components at all, but would not be guaranteed even in this case. I think that, in the absence of an overt history of short life span of the IBIS, we cannot base our choise on a thing like that.
  20. There's a thread in the lens section where other user are discussing on this topic http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/topic/143-which-56mm/
  21. my contribution X-T1, 18-55mm @ 25mm, f9.0 1/160s
