I also have an arca compatible clamp for my cameras with arca-Swiss plates. It's a small clamp I found on eBay, the post gets screwed into it, and I attach the clamp to the L side of the bracket. Works a treat and would resolve your concerns.

Zack was the photographer I followed getting both the Spiperpro and the S-P1 cable. I also got his ONA bag and I've been very happy with every purchase. Re. stresses on the tripod mount, I don't think so. This system (albeit in the bigger size) even works with full size pro DSLRs. I won't be losing any sleep.

Haha! That made me laugh! Those"bike pedals" are the greatest invention ever! Have a look here for details and prepare to reach for your wallet http://spiderholster.com/black-widow-holster/ Say goodbye to camera straps

Don't think about it, just get it. It's awesome.

The SP-1 is a battery hog, I think I got about 60 images from my first set. Given the batteries are expensive, I purchased a cable that powers the SP-1 from my phone backup battery. Works perfectly. Here's an example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/DC-in-5V-External-Power-Cable-Cord-Lead-For-Fuji-Fujifilm-Instax-SHARE-SP-1-SP1-/361034606418

Just showing off, but I figured it would be appreciated here! The X-T1s I use for work, two for stills and two for my stop-motion wedding films. All of the lenses are used for work, excluding the 18-55mm. The two Instax 210s are for our wedding photo booth, the SP-1 is to print out shots after the wedding to give to the couple on the same day. The mini 90 is for dance floor pics. The only cameras that I use for my personal work are the X100T, the Instax 500AF (great camera) and the newly arrived X-Pro1 that I got for a steal to have a play with. I'm playing with the 18-55mm on it at the moment.

No word, and there won't be until Fuji launches its new flash line in 2016. Sorry!

Personally, if you are using these for travel I wouldn't buy anything more. You've got a fast wide (X100), a flexible zoom, and a fast portrait lens (albeit manual focus). You would be better served buying a Samyang 12mm f/2.

The 35mm is hardly a perfect kit lens for a consumer DSLR style body - the camera needed to launch with a normal zoom to be competitive with the entry level offerings of Nikon and Canon. On the other hand, it's the perfect kit lens for the X-Pro2, which is targeted at an experienced user group, all who are probably familiar with the use of prime lenses. It will launch with the X-Pro2.

Oh, yes, I'm obviously an inexperienced user, a successful full time professional photographer with over 10 Fuji bodies. You seriously can't see a situation where a new user tries to (quite rationally) change the aperture on their attached manual lens by adjusting it on the camera? The entire implementation is a nightmare - every time you adjust the aperture on the lens you'd need to access the menu just to change the info or the information captured would be inaccurate. All for something of marginal real value to 99% of photographers. You are welcome to consider all the firmware changes you wish - all I'm saying is that such a change is unlikely because: 1. It is of extremely limited value 2. It would be desired by a fraction of the total user population 3. The implementation would be flawed due to the need to manually change the menu setting for EVERY aperture change 4. The option would leave open the possibility of misunderstanding for new or inexperienced users 5. The only real benefit is for users who are NOT buying Fuji lenses (ie. The group of users that Fuji is least likely to prioritise). Just keep a notation of your settings and apply them on import if it's that important to you.

I think the likelihood of this update is SO remote, and really near useless in terms of its need. Why do you even need to know the aperture after the fact? Will knowing the aperture really make any difference to the photo after it's created? Why would you want to have to change two settings just to shoot? Why would Fuji want the complaints from inexperienced users who can't understand why when they change the setting the lens doesn't change? Why would Fuji even want to further promote the use of other manufacturer lenses? I'm sure it seems like a great idea to you, and it might be marginally useful to some, but it has too little benefit for the cost and potential other issues to even be considered.

The Fuji fun factor trumps everything else?
Antony replied to fujiisfun's topic in General Discussion
I've been a professional Canon shooter for over a decade, most recently with a 1Dx and a couple of 5D3s, together with more expensive glass than you can imagine. Yes, it was bulletproof. But was it fun to use? Hardly. I sold the 1Dx and a 5D3 plus my primes and simply kept one 5D3 and the f/2.8 zooms. With the cash from selling the Canon gear I bought a Fuji system with 4 X-T1 bodies, 8 lenses (all the fast ones), three flash units plus triggers, an X100T (for my personal, non-work related use) and an X-Pro1 (just because I wanted it). Using the Fuji gear makes me excited about shooting again. The Canon didn't do that. -
XT-1 Firmware Should go to Xpro-1 too
Antony replied to EduFierro's topic in Fuji X-Pro 1 / Fuji X-Pro 2 / Fuji X-Pro 3
Personally, I think the X-Pro1's AF is quite good. I've used the X-T1 professionally for a year, and also have an X100T so I'm familiar with the state of the art cameras, but the difference isn't all the internet forums might have you believe. I feel the real differences that affect me are the lack of "Preview exposure plus WB" (X-Pro1 just previews exposure) and the poor focus peaking in low light. In fact, the low light focus peaking is similar to the X100T upon release, before it was improved by FW update. I think that when Fuji released the FW3.40 upgrade they only included some aspects of the release that went to the more modern cameras not because they wanted to differentiate the newer models, but because the processors of the older cameras just wouldn't be able to handle some of the changes. This doesn't explain why things such as classic chrome weren't included, but I can readily believe that things such as preview exposure plus WB may have been too much for the camera to handle without affecting screen refresh rate etc. -
Hi all, just taken some shots in RAW+JPEG with the wide conversion lens setting on by mistake. I've tried to reprocess in camera, but there's no option to change the setting in the in-camera raw processing engine. If I export to Lightroom I'm pretty certain that the wide conversion changes will be automatically applied and I'm not sure how to disable this. Seems like something you should be able to do in-camera. Does anyone have an easy solution?

Thanks for the clarification, I can see these would be beneficial changes.

I don't see any reason for Fuji to fix something that's not broken. Rear button focus works perfectly, just set your camera to manual focus then press. Why would Fuji need to implement a change when this works fine? I don't see what functionality is missing that would be addressed by any change.

Set the camera to manual focus, press back button.

So what presets does the X-T10 have that the X-T1 doesn't?

I'm a big fan of instant film so in addition to my X-T1s, X100T and X30 I also have several instax cameras, most notably the venerable 500AF and the Mini 90. I also have the Instax SP-1 Smartphone printer which uses standard instax film, as well as the impossible project instant lab for larger shots. What I can't understand is why Fuji won't release a printer for Instax Wide film. There would be huge demand from traditional photographers, and it would sure make my life easier not having to use impossible project film, which takes 40+ minutes to develop instead of the 3 minutes for Instax. It's also about a third of the price. Can we get some support for this idea and send it along to Fuji?
