sgmcenroe got a reaction from bergat in Should I trade in my XT1 for an XT3
I traded in my X-T1 and X-T2 for an X-T3. Really happy. focus is much faster. Still love the small APS-C sized camera after shooting Nikons professionally for 30 years.
The weight difference is minor.

Just purchased the X-H1 this week myself and have been playing with the Fuji 80mm macro. Not cheap but pix are glorious.

That is great, sgmcenroe! I have not had to do the reset on my camera, but I figure it must be like a re-boot on the computer. Happy shooting!

sgmcenroe got a reaction from Nick05 in Heck of a deal!
believe it or not, the back order worked out for me. Because of their similar shapes, I clicked on the 35mm f2 lens to go with my package instead of the new 23mm f2 I actually wanted. I already have the 35 f1.4. So I got the entire order canceled successfully and will reorder it correctly.

man! I was so stoked for you from the first post. I went through amazon and was able to get the x-t2 and the grip with the rebate, so maybe that is an option for you?

I ordered mine Sunday and it shipped yesterday. Still wish they offered the deal on the graphite version.

sgmcenroe reacted to graflex in Is it just me or the lowish light files are too noisy?
OK, a person then: Shot indoors with only a ceiling light fixture holding a couple CF bulbs -- ISO 12800. For an APS class camera I think this is pretty impressive. Excellent color and noise barely an issue.

I just got my X-T2 two weeks ago but I'm finding the high ISO results to be quite good. This is ISO 12800:

sgmcenroe reacted to Nick05 in X-T2 Graphite Silver Edition
I loved the color when it came out on the X-T1, but already had the black one and couldn't justify buying a second body, especially for more money. I think part of that was the timing of the release and the fact the X-T1 wasn't quite there performance wise at the time for me so I was still holding onto my Canon gear. I was really hoping they would have released a silver or graphite version of the X-Pro2 or X-T2 at launch, but they didn't. Between the X-Pro2 and X-T2, I found the performance to be better than my Canon 6D and have moved to Fujifilm 100% so I am glad they released this graphite silver version. I've been trying to hold off on buying the second X-T2 so I could get a silver version. I do agree the $200 up charge seems to be a bit much for just a color change.

I wish for the extra $ that it had something a little different than the colour and a different strap. Then it would be worth the extra $ for more of us. It is a beauty to look at though.

sgmcenroe reacted to Nick05 in X-T2 Graphite Silver Edition
I just cancelled my preorder on the Graphite Silver X-T2 today. I was willing to pay the $200 more, but with the new deals in the US when you buy the black version and booster griper, you get $230 off, it makes the price swing that much more. I ordered the grip for my black X-T2 this week. I could now combine that order with a black X-T2 to get $230 of that back resulting in a savings of $430 buying the black version over the graphite silver or I could buy a second black version with the grip for $100 less than the graphite silver. I really wanted the graphite silver color, but unfortunately this much of a price difference is no longer justifiable.

sgmcenroe got a reaction from whc in Newbie X-T1 owner, what do I need to take close macro shots?
I have something called a Sigma "Lifesize" screw-on filter (I do not know where I got it or when.) I came across it in my bag last year and it fits my XF35 1.4 perfectly and gives amazing results. Check out this shot of a little chameleon I took just this past weekend. The lizard is only 4-5 inches long in total.

sgmcenroe got a reaction from loksi in I did it!
I put in my pre-order today for the Fuji XF 100-400. I live in the Black Hills of South Dakota, surrounded by wildlife of all kind. I do a lot of shooting with two friends who are both Nikon shooters (I was for 40 years) and they have great long lenses - one has the Nikon 400 and Nikon 600 and the other has the recent Tamron 150-600. I sold all my Nikon stuff last year and have missed the long reach, but now I am going to be out in the field again with the bison, antelope, deer, prairie dogs, waterfowl and herons that live here in the beautiful Black Hills.

sgmcenroe reacted to Lumens in I did it!
You really need to say that and make us all Soooo Jealous I must wait before I pop for the 100-400. Timing was really bad - it was announced right after popping for a 27" iMac for my Post Processing. I can't complain and don't regret it - the iMac is marvelous, but the 100-400 is likely going to require a good tax return or something magical.
I know Patience, Patience, Patience! I will be seeing what can be sold and saving my pennies!

sgmcenroe reacted to Lumens in My favorite camera bag is...
I picked up the Tenba Messenger Mini. Holds my Xt1 with three lenses (18-55, 55-200, and open space for the 100-400 when it appears ) and all my other equipment (including extension tubes) along with my 11" Mac Book Air, mouse and charger. This allows me to carry all I need in one compact case. What I enjoy the most is the direct access to camera through the zipper on the top, much easier than having to open the entire bag to get to the camera.

sgmcenroe got a reaction from Curiojo in Do we have any X-users using their X cameras for sports?
I am a retired photojournalist and have traded in my Nikons for the Fuji X-T1. While I no longer regularly shoot sports, I have shot both high school football and basketball with the X-T1 and the 55-200 lens with excellent results and the high ISO capabilities of the camera were great for the evening football and available light at the state BKB tourney.
