  1. I traded in my X-T1 and X-T2 for an X-T3. Really happy. focus is much faster. Still love the small APS-C sized camera after shooting Nikons professionally for 30 years. The weight difference is minor.
  2. Just purchased the X-H1 this week myself and have been playing with the Fuji 80mm macro. Not cheap but pix are glorious.
  3. I recently purchased Luminar and use it as a plug-in in LR, but it could easily serve as a LR substitute . Very capable and about $60 on sale. Check it out. I also purchased their HDR program Aurora. They are both produced by Skylum.
  4. GAOPA - the reset worked! Thanks so much for the suggestion. Of course, now I have to go reset all my settings!
  5. Anybody else have this problem? The card slot #1 in my X-T2 has ceased to record or show images. With cards in both slots, it only records to the #2 slot, bypassing #1. While this is sort of livable, using only the #2 card slot, it appears that the camera must read updates, like the new 4.0, from the #1 slot only. I tried the #2 slot and the camera said it couldn't find a card in slot #1. Anybody heard of this problem before. Has anybody had Fuji repair it and how much might that cost. I am off to Africa in 3 months and was hoping to have the camera working properly. It also makes me wonder if my #2 slot might fail soon.
  6. I seldom go Full Auto. I will go shutter preferred or aperature preferred depending on the situation. Shooting sports and wildlife - I set for the fastest shutter speed and workable ISO and let the camera worry about the aperature. Shooting portraits, flowers, etc., I set the aperture for the specific scene and DOF I want and use the ISO again to get a workable shutter speed. Get off full auto and be willing to work your camera more.
  7. jlmphotos - read closer - going to Europe IN five months. Not FOR. Now it is only a month away. Going to Tuscany, Umbria and Rome for about 3 weeks is all. Going to leave the battery pack at home but take the extra batteries. Don't plan on shooting any action soccer photos and the weight reduction will be a plus.
  8. If you are on a once in a lifetime trip, carry 2 bodies if you have them. While in Turkey, I dropped my X100, ended up shooting half the trip with a little Olympus point and shoot I had as a backup. I am going to Italy soon - with an XT2 and an XE2. A pro doesn't shoot a wedding with only one camera for the same reason.
  9. I recently got my new X-T2 from Adorama and it came with a Corel suite. I have uploaded the Corel Video Studio 9, though at one point it asks what "Video Standard" do I use, with two options. I clicked on the simplest one which was NTSB or something like that. Does anyone know what standard the camera actually uses? Couldn't find anything in the owner's manual.
  10. If you order a lens in the bundle as well, you get an additional $100 off. I have wanted, and now ordered, the 23mm f2, so I essentially got the camera and booster grip for the price of the camera alone + the price of a lens I wanted. I am happy. Just hope they get more stock in from Fuji soon.
  11. believe it or not, the back order worked out for me. Because of their similar shapes, I clicked on the 35mm f2 lens to go with my package instead of the new 23mm f2 I actually wanted. I already have the 35 f1.4. So I got the entire order canceled successfully and will reorder it correctly.
  12. Just got notified that the X-T2 body is backordered. Even though, online, it says "in stock and ready to be shipped."
  13. I have been waiting for the X-T2 to go on sale as I am going to Italy in May. I always planned to get the booster grip eventually as well, because I enjoy wildlife and sports photography. The sale now going on (I went to Adorama) was great, giving me a savings of $230 on the combo, but they also offered an extra $100 off on any lens with the purchase, which gave me the opportunity to get the new 23mm at a true bargain price as well - plus Adorama threw in a bunch of little extras like a cleaning kit, the Corel suite, a super fast card, etc. Don't know how long it will last. It was still in stock when I ordered, though a similar package was out of stock at B&H. If you have been waiting, now is the time.
  14. Nick05 - my thoughts exactly. I saw the soon to be special pricing on the X-T2 and grip and I am going that way too. I am going to Europe in 5 months and was hoping that the X-T2 would go on sale before then. I am sort of surprised that it went on sale this early, as it still seems to sell out immediately when a store gets them in.
  15. Sorry guys. I love the look but I won't be paying an extra $200 to get it.
