  1. I believe there's a petition, or address at Fujifilm to write to, in a thread about Ronin gimbals.
  2. Did you say iPhone? Their external mics usually have 4-conductor cables, which aren't directly compatible with anything else. Try an adapter with 3 conductors.
  3. Thar certainly doesn't sound right. I'd exchange it.
  4. It doesn't and I don't think there's a place for it, but I'm thinking someone could relatively easily make one that fits on the Fujifilm teleconverters.
  5. That's interesting. I have the same background in older film cameras, switched to Sony digital in 2014, and in 2018 started just using my phone as well...and I even got a bunch of good pictures. But the shutter lag and lack of longer lenses drove me crazy, so at the beginning of this year I picked up a X-S10 and I've been going like gangbusters (10,000 shots in less than 3 months) ever since. And doing bird photography for the first time, and wow is that technically challenging!
  6. I don't know anything about iPhones, and my X-S10 connected via the Android app first time and every time with no issues, but on Android you can clear all data and reinitialize the app to solve problems like this. Maybe try reinstalling the app and restarting your phone. However...when you say you're "connected to the WiFi", do you mean the WiFi broadcast by the camera?
  7. Ridiculously photogenic squirrel Fujifilm X-S10 with XF 70-300mm lens + 1.4 teleconverter, 323mm 1/950 F8 ISO 2000, Cosumnes River Preserve, California
  8. Well, that's the point, I think. A preset or full manual aperture lens, let alone a manual focus lens, isn't ideal for fast-moving subjects for that reason, although I've managed to get a few good shots of birds in flight using one. But "managing to get a few" and "doing good stuff on a regular basis" are two different things 😺 PS Since you're using manual focus, you can also use focus peaking, and that generally solves the problem of focusing at a smaller aperture. Just change the live view setting so you're not looking at a dark viewfinder.
  9. Perhaps a judicious tweet would be in order.
  10. Unfortunately we don't know if that's your only lens (so you'd have something to compare it to), what your setup is (are you using a tripod? Manual or auto focus?), or what your level of photo expertise is. But I can say that none of those photos look sharp anywhere, not just where you're focusing. My 16-80 is very sharp in general and quite decent wide open. I just shot these for you, f/4 handheld, manual focus.
  11. Actually not a baby; the first generation hatched is smaller. Fujifilm X-S10 with XF 70-300mm lens on extension tubes, 1/2000 handheld f/10 ISO 6400
  12. No problems here either, and it surprise updated itself from the app.
  13. Then mine works different. Anyway, we're living in the future with 50,000 ISO so who uses flash? 🙄
  14. Only when it's wider than around 30mm, though.
  15. I wish Fujifilm (or, as rumors have it, Sigma or someone) would make a 600 prime, or maybe 300-600 zoom for wildlife/bird photography.
  16. Never. My Sony latched automatically, but the Fujifilm door doesn't, so I always try to close it and lock it with a separate distinct motion for this reason.
  17. I haven't used mine to any extent after updating but just wow. Don't people test software any more, especially before rolling it out to a global audience?
  18. Definitely try some pics in good light of a static subject on a tripod. If those don't come out tack-sharp, a visit to the shop is definitely in order, Good luck, I hope there's nothing wrong with your camera. I've had a different mirrorless system (Sony) for 6 years and there is still plenty of stuff I'm learning about this thing!
  19. This makes me wonder if it's not a focusing problem as much as shutter speed, since most smartphone cameras focus slowly compared to "real" cameras.
  20. That should work fine...I just think it's unnecessary. But hey, if you get into longer lenses you'll need it anyway! Video shot with 500mm Tamron and 2x teleconverter: Still shot with 70-300:
  21. I've been shooting the moon with both the 70-300 and a Tamron 500 mirror lens with 2x teleconverter and had no problems whatever. It's a compact zoom, not a long telephoto.
  22. Seems like your question is more about using the camera as a webcam than about vlogging. There's a big discussion about this very subject in this very forum; one person even discusses that switcher. I found that the simplest solution was to bypass the buggy Fujifilm webcam software and just buy around $20 worth of cables:
  23. On regular cameras you zoom by turning the ring on the lens, not by pushing buttons. OP might be moving up from a point-and-shoot.
  24. Well, even Canon is now selling (expensive!) "webcam kits" that basically set you up with a dummy battery and power supply to get around this. I expect that someone will soon come up with a product or 3D print design that will do the same for Fujifilm...maybe even Fujifilm.
