  1. Glad he's enjoying it! My 10 year old son is actually taking a once-a-week photography class for tweens that begins tonight. I picked up a used silver X-E2 off eBay for a couple hundred bucks and put a 27mm f/2.8 on it for him to use. Funded the purchase by selling off an old Canon G11 and some Canon flash triggers I had forgotten about that were just sitting in a drawer. He's excited to have a camera that "looks like Daddy's" (I have a silver X100F) and I figured if he actually gets into it he could try using any of my lenses, supervised of course.
  2. I ordered from B&H back on July 7th too, so I hope I'm in the first batch they ship out on Sept 8! My son has a soccer tournament on Sept. 10-11 so it would be great to try out the new autofocus features using my 50-140.
  3. Actually the rumor was for a 200 f/2 right? http://www.fujirumors.com/rumor-fujifilm-working-on-a-xf200mm-f2-lens-source-right-in-the-past/ I would love to see that happen! A 200 f/2 with the X-T2 could be a great setup for sports, and longer primes are definitely an obvious gap in the lineup when compared to Canon and Nikon's offerings.
  4. Check the date of that rumor ...
  5. I bought one from that seller. It shipped China Post without any customs fees. Any customs charge for US buyers on that wouldn't be an issue anyway since the new rules went into effect on March 10, and the new personal daily amount is $800. Here's the relevant statue: "The general de minimis aggregate fair retail value in the country of shipment of duty-free articles imported by one person on one day increases from $200 to $800." https://www.congress.gov/bill/114th-congress/house-bill/1907 Some foreign retailers have been heavily advertising this change on their sites. Check out the homepage of Henry's in Canada for example: http://www.henrys.com/Default.aspx As you mentioned EU buyers might get hit though.
  6. X-T1, 16-55 f/2.8, 50-140 f/2.8, 18 f/2, 35 f/1.4, 56 f/1.2, 1.4x extender, J.B. grip Waiting for the X-T2 this summer, and possibly the X200, and 200 f/2 (if that really happens).
  7. I recently purchased the carbon MeFoto RoadTrip and really love it so far, especially compared to the heavy Manfrotto I used to lug around for my Canon setup. I got mine for $260 from "xtreme micro" on eBay. I'm not sure how he's selling at that price, but it's legit and a great tripod for only $60 more than the aluminum version. No affiliation with the seller, but here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/400901106186
