Hi All, my first posting here, since leaving m43 and later Sony. Wanted a good zoom and 16+ megapixel setup, so I can not wait for the XT-2. For now the 100-400 is coupled with the XT-1. Had a wonderful time in the coastal area in Holland, waterleidingduinen it is called.

I'm considering adding a telephoto zoom to my lens kit, but not sure which one to get. I'm very much keen on doing occasional wildlife and bird photography, but it's not something I necessarily get to do that often. That's why I was thinking that the 50-140 is a more versatile lens for day-to-day use and that, with the 2x teleconverter, it would be sufficient for wildlife. Has anyone got experience with the 50-140 + 2x tele-converter? What's your experience with the picture quality and the auto-focus? Is this thinking just silly and I should simply save up for the 100-400 instead? Thanks!

I’ve been dithering about whether to buy the new 100-400. I keep thinking it would be fantastic for nature photography, but on the other hand it would weigh as much as the rest of my X-T1 outfit put together, and if I am going to carry that much weight around, I might as well use my full-frame Nikon. This evening it hit me: The big gap in Fuji’s lineup is that the 55-200mm lens doesn’t accept the teleconverters. So…What I really wish they would make is a 55-200mm f/4 or even 100-200mm f/4. I think 200 f/2.8 would be too big, though it might be possible. The real point is that the lens must be able to work with the 1.4 and 2.0 teleconverters. That would give 280mm f/5.6 or 400mm f/8, either of which would be workable for a wide variety of contexts. For that matter, 100-250mm f/4 would be nice too. The main point would be f/4 at the long end while remaining substantially smaller and lighter than the 100-400mm.

First Pictures taken with the Xt2 and the 100-400. The autofocus looks promising but I will need try the different modes.

From the album: 100-400
My first shot with 100-400 -
I'm the lucky owner of an XT10 and a 100-400 4.5-5.6. When budgeting I decided that my money at this present time was better spent on glass than body so I went for the cheapest body available at the Photography Show and the most expensive lens (oh dear). Must admit The lens is superb and the camera is too even if not a perfect match for the lens. My question is this - Would you trust the tiny XT10 to hold the weight of the large lens hanging from it's bayonet and the skinny camera strap in tiny eyelets? I must admit it feels a bit scary to have that large heavy lens hanging from the tiny xt10 and just the supplied strap in the camera eyelets. Anyone have any technical reassurance ... Or otherwise?
