I aIways have an issue with how much dust I get on my viewfinder. It seems very dust prone. I barely want to have the camera with a neckstrap because I have to clean the dust from my viewfinder everytime after usage. Anyone have the same experience and perhaps a solution?

Is that with the glas on the viewfinder or the rubber around it? I haven't used the camera outside yet, so haven't had an issue with dust on the glas, but the rubber is like a dust magnet. I may try to clean it with some rubber safe anti-static solution. Another option is to try some tirth party peace. It might be less dust prone if made from different material . So quite a lot offerings on eBay the other day.

I assume that you are talking of the viewfinder “ well” and rubber eyecup?

Yes, a bit dusty, I blow it clean and use a brush every now and again when it  bothers me. There is no way to prevent the dust to collect there. The problem is not, only, the fact that rubber might be statically charged.

The rubber eyecup is naturally proclive to do this because of the fact that it is soft enough for the dust particles to adhere to it, and the viewfinder well, a receptacle for dust to fall in, where would it go on its own if you don’t remove it? It would naturally stay there.

I too have glasses and have the long eyecup.

The long eyecup is of course intended to be used without glasses and adhere to the eyeball as much as possible  ( the camera has, after all a dioptric correction) but can be used very easily with spectacles too.

The long eyecup of the X-T1 is only marginally longer than the one of the X-T2 though
