Firmware update on older cameras

Hello,

I’ve recently discovered an old camera, a Fujifilm Finepix JX300 (2011) that hadn’t been touched for a long time. It turned on okay and I took a couple pictures, but then it showed a firmware update notification, and it won’t let me proceed without it. When I searched for a solution, everyone told me to download the file from the Fujifilm website, but since the camera is so old, I can’t find it there nor anywhere else. Is there a way I can solve this to continue to use the camera?

Welcome to our forum! It sounds mysterious that the camera would know about an outstanding firmware update. Perhaps there is a defect involved. As for old firmwares you could search the internet archive or ask the Fuji service by mail.
