Fujifilm X Acquire crashes in Win10 - can't backup settings

I only use this to backup settings before updating firmware.  I tried to run my old version in windows that worked a few years ago to backup my settings. Old version crashed. Updated to new fuji version and it runs and I see the taskbar icon but then when I plug in my XT-30, the app/program crashes.  

The thought of updating my firmware without having a backup of my settings is terrifying!
