  1. I use the app mostly for photo downloading but once in a while I do use it to choose an image. I usually use single point focus so never noticed this before. The camera usually on single point using the camera to shoot, amd app on single point, can click to change on the app and that all has worked. However I setup the camera for multi-point focus, so through the LCD a larger area which is what I wanted. But when I switched to the app, I still just had single point. Does the app not mirror the camera focus mode? And if not, how do I adjust the focus area and mode on the app! Thanks, BJBBJB
  2. When I switched from Nikon to Fuji, the fact that Shutter priority mode was NOT WYSIWYG made me nuts......but may be what you want. Try shutter priority, in the Fuji world, it does amp up the EVF when settings would otherwise deliver a dark image. Behaves different than other settings. Threads here and on Dpreview. Try it, mine is an XT-30 but think it is an overall Fuji thing vs. Camera specific. You can checkout this thread too Exposure preview issue on X-T5 Hope it helps
  3. That setting may be required for how I switch with the joystick and wheel. I setup so long ago don't remember.
  4. Not sure if same on your model. On my XT-30 I quickly pish in my joystick and spin the dial which increases the focus range to auto or in other direction it goes to single point. I keep on single point and choose focus point with joystick. Then if I hand my camera to someone to take a shot, I change to auto per the above.
  5. I wish it had it too. But I miss an option for filesize other than full size or resized which on an xt-30 is only 1mb. Would love to be able to resize by percent or filesize. BJBBJB
  6. Hi there. I have an XT-30 and upgraded my firmware last week and installed the X app on my S23+ and S8 Ultra. Camera connected to phone no problem. I then installed on my S8 and no joy. The solution for me was to go into the camera connection menu and switch to the tablet model number. It lists model numbers so take note. If I change the connection in camera to match which device I want to use before starting up the app on the phone or tablet it seems to work. It seems the camera should be able to recognize a previously paired device like every other Bluetooth device but I guess not. Hope that helps. If there is a better way let me know. FWIW once connected the connection more stable than the old app. BJBBJB
  7. I also transitioned from Nikon about 3 years ago and feel your pain. I do not shoot birds but have shot jets and landscapes etc. So I am far from a Fuji expert! But the only ssolution that has worked for me is long-pressing the stick, and the using the dial to expand or contract the focus area. I set the menu at max focus points. But I choose my shooting focus method by changing the focus bracketed area as noted above. I am sure others with more knowledge will chime in, BJBBJB
  8. I only use this to backup settings before updating firmware. I tried to run my old version in windows that worked a few years ago to backup my settings. Old version crashed. Updated to new fuji version and it runs and I see the taskbar icon but then when I plug in my XT-30, the app/program crashes. The thought of updating my firmware without having a backup of my settings is terrifying!
  9. I plan to use the pc utility to backup settings before doing the update. Hope I don't need it though.
  10. Yes, that is how I used the old version. Just a few more steps before/after using it each time. BJBBJB
  11. That is good to hear. Was scary to read about some of the firmware update issues on some models. BJBBJB
  12. Thanks. Yes the old app did that too. I would turn it on when I used it on my android phone then turn it of when I was done. Wasn't that big of a deal for me.
  13. I was just going to update the firmware on my XT-30 and install the updated Fuji-X app but based on the above, it may be better to wait? I did not even see a release about the updated app, it just showed ip in the google apps store. I definitely will use that windows fuji program to backup my settings whenever I do take the plunge. Haven't done that since initial setup! Hope they do get this fixed and working. I can usually get the old app to work after trying like 3 or 4 times. This weekend it would not work at all which is what is making me want to get this working. BJBBJB
  14. I wish the custom settings saved everything also. The exceptions of what it does not save means I don't use them. Could never find a use case where I knew every setting was how I wanted it except what I want to change if that makes sense. The advice for using a button and then Q menu for items you need to see the status of is good.
  15. I wish I could help. I have read the charts on what these settings save and what it doesn’t....have never been 100% comfortable using. But never had that particular issue.
