X app focus mode and area

I use the app mostly for photo downloading but once in a while I do use it to choose an image.

I usually use single point focus so never noticed this before. The camera usually on single point using the camera to shoot, amd app on single point, can click to change on the app and that all has worked.

However I setup the camera for multi-point focus, so through the LCD a larger area which is what I wanted.  But when I switched to the app, I still just had single point. Does the app not mirror the camera focus mode?  And if not, how do I adjust the focus area and mode on the app!
