I couldn't help but notice that in the "Most Used Lens" thread/survey the 35 f1.4 was the most used lens with the 35 f2 following close behind.  It made me realize that 35 mm must be the most used focal range or at least close to it.  I also noted with the latest promotion the  35 f2 sold out almost immediately and are now on back order at B&H.

With that in mind GAS took over, I just ordered the 35 f2 in Silver as it is still in stock.  I didn't have a 35 mm lens so this will fit the bill.  I am looking forward to getting it out and playing with it.

35mm and 50mm are classic focal lengths.  That's why you see the 23 and the 35 among the top 3 in that poll.  The 50 (35) is also very close to what you see with your eye, so it's very easy and intuitive to use, and you get proficient with it very quickly.

Looking back thru my history of focal lengths, especially what focal length I'd tend to use with a zoom, there was a LOT of usage that hovered around 28mm. This has me very interested in the little Fuji 27mm pancake.

The other day I taped my 18-55mm zoom right at 27mm and shot for a couple days that way. That sure is a practical focal length for everyday shooting. It's about 40mm equivalent. I think I prefer that to the tighter 35mm (52mm equivalent).

Sure, the 35mm is faster and sexier, but 27mm is a real nice field of view. And the lens seems quite nice.

Yes, I already own the 27 mm and it surprised me with how well I got along with it.  The 40 mm FF equivalent is a great focal range.

I saw how much the 35 mm is used and the $299 price at discount and I couldn't resist the temptation to give the 35 a try.  I normally use zooms as I like the versatility, but using a prime has some real advantages, especially when it comes to opening up the creativity.

This gives me a 12, 27, 35, and 60 in primes.  I definitely suffer from GAS, but that's part of the fun.
