"WRITE ERROR" and weird bad spots for movies on X-T4

Recommended Posts

I'm just now trying to learn about movies, on an X-T4 I've been using for still photography for a few months now. But most of the movies I try to shoot give me a "WRITE ERROR" during "STORING", and leave nothing on the card. Sometimes I get a movie on the card in spite of the error message. Some of the movies I do get have weird spots in them, maybe the whole screen mostly goes a single color with some different looking areas here and there. I've experimented with different movie modes, formatting the card in the camera, and power cycling the camera, but have not found a way to make most of the movies work. I'm using SanDisk Extreme PRO SDXC 128 GB cards that I bought specifically because something from Fuji recommended them, and not using them for anything else. The cards go back and forth between my cameras (I also have an X-T30 ii) and my iMac.

I haven't had any problem like this when doing still photography, or when using the cards to do camera body or lens firmware updates (which I think are all current).

Any suggestions for how I can figure out whatever's going wrong?

Thank you!

    • Agree with jerryy The X-T5 is a recent camera - if you don't have the latest version of Lightroom (or if you have a subscription version and you haven't updated it recently) then it won't support the X-T5 - at a minimum you will need version 6.0 of Lightroom and version 12.0 of Lightroom Classic
    • Hello, with my device, I send the image to the obs with the capture card in 1080p 60 FPS video mode with automatic shutdown mode turned off. After 30-35 minutes, no signal (RGB) error occurs even though the device is on, the device behaves like it is turned off. This is a problem with a device of this quality. It is annoying to encounter this. I wonder if I need to make a different setting on the device. Webcam X application does not work for me. I need to capture the image with a capture card, please help.
    • I believe you need to give more information about what you are doing so that you can get some help. Such as: What computer system are you trying to download the images to, which version of its operating system? Which version of Lightroom? How are you connecting the camera to the computer? Have you tried to put the card in a card reader that is attached to the computer? Information like that. A sad smiley emoji just is not enough. p.s. Welcome to the forum.
    • It is a frustrating problem that placing a Godox flash or trigger on a Fuji camera will not allow the camera to be in anything but TTL mode. As far as I know it is the same for all Fuji cameras, and all Godox triggers except for X1T that reportedly has a firmware that fixes the problem. This thread is a good read: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/62565196 Also, please write Godox an email. They need to fix it.
    • Hi, Does anyone know if the "button" function of the front command dial on the XT5 can be turned off?  I have a medical issue with my fingers (deformity) and I constantly hit the dial and activate the button function.  Turning the dial is not an issue.  It's just the darn "button".  Thanks in advance.
