Hi all,

This is my first Fuji-X post. I received my X-H2s from Adoroma yesterday and was totally stoked. I plugged it in to charge of the battery fired it up and everything seemed great. I turned it off and put in a San Disk Extreme Pro SDXC card and fired it up again and the thing took forever to turn on. To my great disappointment I received an error stating that I had no card in slot 1. I double checked to make sure that the camera was set to write to sequentially and it was. I formatted the card and it looked like it formatted properly, but the camera still would not take any pictures. I put the card back into my computer and found that the X-H2S did not format the card. Something was seriously wrong 😥

Suffice to say, I tried several different things to get the camera to take photos and it just wouldn't work with an SD card in it. It worked fine tethered, but not with a card. I called Fuji support and they said it sounded like an electrical problem and that they have not had anyone else with this issue. They said I needed to return the camera, so now it's going back to Adoroma and I have no idea when I'll get another one as they are now back ordered everywhere 😭.

Thought I would post this, in case others run into the same problem.

A bit about me, this is my first Fuji camera. I've been a full time professional photographer for twenty one years and staff photographer for two different educational non-profits for the past ten years. As a staff photographer I haven't purchased a personal camera since I bought my Nikon D4 way back then. I wanted to go aps-c this time, because I want smaller lighter lenses. I didn't want to go Sony, because I shoot Sony for my day job and feel their full frame ergonomics suck, so I imagine their smaller aps-c ergonomics will be even worse. Now I'm just hoping to get a new X-H2s before my daughter's next musical performance.

Sorry to hear of your issues with your new camera and hope Fuji and Adorama will fix them and get it back to you in time. Your issues are the reason I don't buy cars or cameras the first year they've been out sometimes it takes the manufacturers that long to straighten things out.

Fuji cameras normally don't even work when only one slot is occupied with one card. this only works sequential. but it should have warned you. Again, it may not be a major probem and, instead, some newly introduced think (to make life difficult.....) I had my H2s returned for service when slot 1 was greyed out in the menue and the camera would not write pictures on the other card. I guess now, it may have been one of those incomprehensible new instructions. the problem now is that you need two different card-systems.
