Size! The open question is size. Like the Pro-1 or smaller?
-
I'm sure there are more people with a heart in their chest.
-
Can't wait to see the first pictures of the Pro2. I'm still concerned that Fuji reduced size. Fuji tends to shrink everything.
-
Don't worry about that. I'll buy two. You can take the T2 with 4k video, mp3 music, gps, instagram & facebook integration and teleskop tilt screen. And please don't ruin my party. I'm so close to get a real dream camera...

Calm down mate. This is just a discussion about an unknown new camera. We discuss rumors. We discuss our favorite features. We're not part of the Fuji marketing decision team for the Pro2. Even if I'm surprised how close the Pro2 will probably match my personal dreams - I can't ruin your party...

Would you buy an X-Pro2 without OVF ?
Tom replied to Anthelix's topic in Fuji X-Pro 1 / Fuji X-Pro 2 / Fuji X-Pro 3
The Pro2 will have an hybrid OVF. The other camera will be the T2. E and M lines are dead. -
Everything is going the right way. I'm interested in four points on the XPro2: IQ, IQ, IQ and AF. As long as Fuji is focused on that, I'm happy. I expect industrie leading IQ and super fast AF in January.

Do I hate technology, if I don't need a video mode ? AF will still be based on phase detection. And the new 24mp sensor will give a lot of hardware support. I expect the world leading AF system in February. Nothing to worry about. Do I hate technology, if I like the hybrid VF of my X100T more than the tilt live-view screen of a X-M1? And even the EVF of my T1 is terrible noisy in low light conditions. No - state of the art in technology is the hybrid view finder. And if I use a view finder, there is no need for a fragile tilt screen. So I don't want one. And I guess I'll get a hybrid VF and a fixed screen. What I want is super sharp 24mp sensor with brilliant IQ and a super fast AF. And I guess I'll get one. What I want is a weather resistant bullet proof body. And I guess I'll get one. What I want is a manual ISO dial. And I guess I'll get one. My dream would be a internal 5-axis sensor-shifting image stabilization system with pixel-shift resolution. There's still hope to get one - but not a lot. Finally I would wish to be able to switch off the JPG engine and all the settings in the menu. That would reduce the number of menu entries by 50%. No hope to get that option. Overall I am very confident to get a new high technology camera in a few weeks.

Stripped down? I would prefer to say 'less loaded'. I just want to copy the picture of the object from my mind to the sd-card. HD movies capabilities don't help me. Same with wifi. And I'm an old man, used to look through an OVF. So even a tilt screen and live view are useless for me. These are my personal wishes. What's wrong? The T2 will have all these features. Why should Fuji produce two identical cameras?
-
I hope that Fuji will keep the Pro2 as puristic as the Pro1. The T2 will follow soon with all the bells and whistles. But with the Pro2, I don't want a tilt screen. No videos. No wifi. Not even live view. Just a perfect photo camera that can became a natural part of me. The new Leica M 262 comes close to that. My dream for January is a Pro2 WR with 24mp and the hybrid VF of the 100T. For now all rumors are promising...

Weirdest special offer for a X Pro 1
Tom replied to milandro's topic in Fuji X-Pro 1 / Fuji X-Pro 2 / Fuji X-Pro 3
I think it is a great offer. The Pro1 with XF18 and XF27 is a great combination. The small lenses do not overlap the OVF. Add a XF35 2.0 and you can handle most situations. The Pro1 with the XF27 is actually my favorite alternative for a X100T. -
X-pro2 launch, keep or sell your x-pro1?
Tom replied to drb's topic in Fuji X-Pro 1 / Fuji X-Pro 2 / Fuji X-Pro 3
The Pro1 is a classic camera for eternity. I just bought a second. The prices are irresistible . -
I would love to get a 40mm pancake. 2.0-2.8 would be fine. The XF27 and the X-Pro1 are a great combination on the street. But sometimes I wish to be a little bit closer.

With X-T1 and FW 4.0 people are happy to get a sharp focus with most of their shots now. You can use the camera on birthday parties with children . It is complete different to the old X-Sensor in the M1 or Pro1. But is not even 30% of what the old 7D is capable to do.

Fuji announces the X-T1 IR for infrared photography!
Tom replied to Patrick FR's topic in Fuji X-T1 / Fuji X-T10
Those poor Fuji engineers. While waiting for a new sensor, they have to fill old wine in new bottles again and again. -
He swapped mainly because of the 'myset' function, where you can store multiple different complete camera setups. And the the internal image stabilizer is awesome. But as I wrote he dropped mFT again already. So my question is answered. I will wait for the Pro2...
-
Yes. I recently talked with a friend who has moved from X-T1 to the OM-D E-M1. Noise at low ISO and difficult bokeh made him despair. He is now back with Canon FF. Guess I have to wait...
-
Panasonic presented the Lumix DMC-GX8 - and it looks like a modern version of my X-Pro1. Same size. Same weight. The GX8 has everything I would expect from the X-Pro2 . Except for the sensor. Is mFT an alternative?
-
It's not 'just dust'. More like small chips. Since the XF90 is weather resistant, I guess it's abrasion from internals. My XF56 has the same problem and is currently in service. And I had to send back my TCL X100 twice before I got one without chips inside. On the other hand I have 30-40 years old Zeiss lenses without any any traces of dust. I love My Fuji gear. But this is annoying.

I had to send my XF90 back. It collected a major amount of dust inside. I really miss it - but actually the Fuji quality is a mess.
