Use our Fujis as workhorse tools or keep them pristine?
Azimuth replied to LeFey's topic in General Discussion
Are you the type that upgrades every two years? You had better baby the cameras then. I'm on a much longer buying cycle, and don't mind working my T1 really hard. Still, there is room for taking care of equipment without babying it. I keep my gear in a camera bag or backpack, generally careful not to scratch or drop it, and it gets wiped off after a seascape expedition. -
There is an entire forum section for images.

Would you dump your 14mm and 23mm for a 10-24 zoom? - Why or why not?
Azimuth replied to Qualistat's topic in Fuji X Lenses
In your shoes I would just keeping using the 14 and 23 and be happy. -
A lens is only as good as the photos created with it.

So with the Swedish site, is it better for them to show a smaller profile to bump up their preorder numbers, at the risk of cancellations when the real lens is shown?

For street, landscape and travel you don't even really need autofocus in my opinion. Take a look at bloggers and photographers who have used the X-PRO 1 for lots of fine work

As others have said, its nice to have options. It is perfectly feasible to leave the camera on AF-S or manual focus and shoot the same way you were shooting before 4.0 arrived. Personally, I am lukewarm about the zone tracking, but really happy with continuous focusing that really works now and better functionality from the phase-detect points.

Thanks for the test, but I prefer Rico's daughter as a model. -

Went for a lunch walk, practiced with the 35mm 1.4 and 14mm 2.8 AF-C Wide Tracking is really amazing for tracking trams, cars, horses, etc. Spot on every frame with minimal effort. The 3x3 zone AF-S focuses very quickly with the 35mm lens. This will probably be my default AF mode from now on. -

Installed now. Can't see any change in jpeg file sizes, or any settings to affect this. -

"The 35mm does not pulse back and force anymore it just locks on!! amazing!! " What mode are you using for this? Office just got busy but will test it soon with the 35mm and 14mm lenses. -

You could download it and find out. -
Impossible decision. I currently use the 14mm, 35mm and 60mm. If I were traveling around the world, however, the 23mm would have to sneak in somehow. The only one it could really replace, though, is the 35mm, which is just to useful for shooting my family shots to ever give up. Maybe 4 primes, or 3 and a zoom?

I would simply keep shooting with the X-Pro 1 and wait to see what the X-Pro 2 brings. If you enjoy shooting with that rangefinder form factor, then don't mess up a good thing!

Why are you sure?

I think seascapes belong in the landscape forum. No need for a separate forum.
