  1. Here is the biggest question of all. Saltwater or fresh? If it were saltwater i would think the camera is done for.
  2. The 36MP in the D800 is overkill for 99% of the people out there and that included me when i owned one.
  3. Hey Scottie, I don't think you will have aperture control on your PC-E lens due to it's electronically controlled aperture.
  4. If i remember correctly AF assist without firing the flash is possible on both the SB-800 and SB-900 speed lights.
  5. Another common factor was the 400-500 hours in hand and 100K images a year these cameras went through.
  6. I've had this happen to almost every camera i've ever used including D200, D300, D700, D800 and my X-T1. Nothing new to see here.
  7. I'm unsure if someone else recommended this remote or not. But certainly i did. And google also might also if you gave it a try. Also, someone above my post also recommended a $9.99 solution to your problem. As for not wanting the camera to offer 30+ second exposures....you are putting words in my mouth. I never said such a thing. In fact about half of what i shoot is 30+ seconds considering i'm the father of two young children and pretty well can't shoot until they go to bed at night. Funny as i have no issues in doing so with a $9 remote. And yes, it's very reliable. And if it weren't at that price you can probably afford three, just in case. You don't need the camera to wipe your a$$ my friend!
  8. $9.99 is't what you would call "particularly cheap"? Also, in blub mode the camera shows an exposure timer on the LCD or EVF. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/765659-REG/Vello_RS_C1II_RS_C1II_Wired_Remote_Switch.html
  9. I can't believe i just read that!
  10. yeah dude! serious issues! you don't own the 90mm....yet.
  11. i had to open a pack of film in Cancun, Mexico last summer as the language barrier made things difficult. they got it after a while.
  12. Unsure if you've considered this but print one at the reception for the bride. Not only will the bride be impressed but so will her family and guests as your image (most often!) circulates the room. I got quite a few inquiries last summer during receptions due to prints from the SP-1. Cheers!
  13. Or it can create 'the mood' if done well. My last wedding was shot with: X-T1 12mm Rokinon 16mm 1.4 23mm f1.4 35mm f1.4 56mm f1.2 50-140mm 10-24mm X100T (hard to beat for daytime flash setups)
