I'd wait till the x-t10 comes out personally before deciding so you have all the facts. It could affect pricing of other models like the x-e2.

Lost me when you said "output as raw". Raw is a recording of what the sensor saw. Are you wanting the original exposures in raw form? You can already do that. If not, please clarify what this is supposed to do.

Isn't the Sony a6000 that I list above an EVF rangefinder style body? Yet it competes directly against the DSLR style OM-D EM-10 that I listed in the same category. Therefore I'm not sure I follow your point about there needing to be a 1:1 correspondence on the basis of body styling. Or are you trying to state that A6000 and EM-10 are not direct competitors because of body style and therefore Fuji should make X-T10 to target the EM-10 while it continues to make X-E bodies to target the A6000?

One of versions 8's focus points seems to be about retaining natural looking images after doing significant processing of the RAW files. i.e. after adjusting highlights, shadows and sharpening.

Against the likes of all these Chinese flash companies, I am not even sure its worth Fuji's time to even bother with competing in the flash market. What can they offer that they Chinese can't copy and make even better and cheaper? When was the last time we saw a new flash model from Nikon or Canon. Ask yourself why that is.

Real X-T10 Vs. Mock Up X-T10... which one do you prefer?
x-tc replied to Patrick FR's topic in Fuji X-T1 / Fuji X-T10
I think Fuji marketing knows what they are doing better than I do. They have more information and overall strategy. They can pull the strings as required to maximize overall profits both in long and short term. If something is not working, they will adjust. I think they are playing a few different strategies here. I think many of us were attracted to the top tier of their brand. However, Fujifilm as a whole is still missing out on a large share of lower entry or mid range bodies in the hope to attract more customers to the brand. Many of us were entry level DSLR consumers at one point before we upgraded. I hope most agree that upgrading to higher tier model within the brand is a lot simpler than switching brands. Fuji need a strong entry/mid tier hook than what they have had so far. I think that is what they are working on now. -
price wise, I think that is where X-10 is heading. Fuji has the EVF-less/entry tier model with tilt screen (X-Ax) to compete with Sony a5xxx and Olympus PEN Fuji has the EVF mid tier models with tilt screen (X-T10) to compete with Sony a6000 and Olympus OM-D E-M10 Fuji has the EVF top tier models with tilt screen/weather resistant/more controls (X-T1) to compete Sony A7ii and Olympus OM-D E-M1 What would X-E compete with?

Do you have reference to the 5x better AF figure? Not doubting, just curious. In my experience my X-T1 already does better than my D600 in low contrast scenes. Accuracy wise.

XT-1 Firmware Should go to Xpro-1 too
x-tc replied to EduFierro's topic in Fuji X-Pro 1 / Fuji X-Pro 2 / Fuji X-Pro 3
One word. Tesla. It would have been better comparison if Rico used P85D "insane mode" firmware upgraded to P85. Instead of Porsches. ;-). -
If you are a pro, rent one for a day to remove all doubt. Consider what is true today may not be true after the new FW ships. So hold off on that rental for a little while.

Real X-T10 Vs. Mock Up X-T10... which one do you prefer?
x-tc replied to Patrick FR's topic in Fuji X-T1 / Fuji X-T10
I agree about the first part completely. It will generate more revenue. The second part not so much. The company is split into business units (BUs) which need to have operational expenses inline with revenue from the point of view of the BU; not company as a whole. -
Real X-T10 Vs. Mock Up X-T10... which one do you prefer?
x-tc replied to Patrick FR's topic in Fuji X-T1 / Fuji X-T10
Look at it this way. Most people don't need the features of the top shelf model. The X-T10 looks more attractive to them due to lower price point and will allow them to capture sales which would normally go to competitors like OM-D EM-10 kit. This will allow increased revenue and more money to spend on raising the bar on the top shelf model for next gen. Ps. To drive this point home consider that OM-D EM-10 was recently on sale for $499 including cheap plastic kit lens. Sony A6000 bodies are now $460. Fuji needs to be able to answer a challenge like that. I think X-T10 could be that with eventual discounting. -

I think they might prefer the black version -
the x-t1 has additional direct controls which may not be needed by everyone.

Splotchy colours in Lightroom - X-T1
x-tc replied to benjaminthomson's topic in RAW Conversion Fuji X Photos
thats interesting. Lots of yellow patterns. You can also see funny thing going on in whites of eyes and reds on noise. Did you adjust highlight recovery much? -
If you are 100% happy then get a second one. If you are not, figure out which model will address your concern.
-
No focal reducer either. Right?
-
Are you sure it's stopping down? Do you see shutter adjusting as you turn aperture ring if you set to auto shutter?
-
rear dial seems to stick out further than front. More like X-E series than X-T1. I'm thinking the rear dial in a pushable like in X-E series. Can anyone confirm?

How to trigger my Nikon SB-900 flashes
x-tc replied to Miker's topic in Flash Photography with Fuji X
the top video with use of remote power control is what I do, more or less. It allows adjustment of power remotely while metering flash output with hand held light meter. -
ok. looks like with newly posted photos AE-L and AF-L are just like X-T1. Switching between metering modes seems to be a mystery. Maybe via Fn button on the back?
-
Anyone seen photos or have hints of how back of the X-T10 will address metering modes, AE-L and AF-L? I'm curious how they will handle switching into different metering modes and AF vs AE lock.
