  1. Everyone makes the same mistake with the file naming - it’s a shame the camera can’t figure it out
  2. The firmware file for the xt4 should be FWUP0024.DAT why do you think that it’s editing software?
  3. The difference is in the EVF not the LCD - with "Eye sensor only" the image display option is shown but not with "EVF Sensor and LCD image display"
  4. I think you are misunderstanding the purpose of the setting - from your description it is working as intended - the display remains in use when displaying images and for live view The EVF on the other hand does not show image display (only live view).
  5. The simple answer is yes. And the camera does matter - more recent cameras - like the X-H2/S - allow you to save settings other than those for image quality - so the situation is different.
  6. Bizarre - I was thinking you must have something wrong with your camera but I tried with my X-H2S and the 16-80 and get similar results (I didn't calculate the exact delay). It even happens if you close focus and then put the lens cap on - or even turn the camera off and back on with lens cap on.
  7. Yes - long press on the Menu/OK button controls lock/unlock
  8. I assume by "in camera" conversion you mean using X raw Studio on the computer which uses the camera as the back end for the actual raw conversion? I use it occasionally - its useful for testing out different camera settings but a bit cumbersome for large scale conversion (and not as flexible as Adobe, Capture One, DxO etc). You might annoy Adobe users by accusing them of being "casual".
  9. That is what the specifications say - "Bulb: up to 60min." with mechanical shutter and "Bulb: 1sec. Fixed" with electronic shutter. So bulb works it is just fixed at one second with electronic shutter. https://fujifilm-x.com/en-us/products/cameras/x-t5/specifications/
  10. If the objective is to reduce the file size how about 14 bit lossless compressed?
  11. The most likely reason is that you have the camera set to fully auto
  12. Its difficult to imagine this could be anything other than a faulty camera. You seem to have done all the tests to eliminate other causes.
  13. Agree with jerryy The X-T5 is a recent camera - if you don't have the latest version of Lightroom (or if you have a subscription version and you haven't updated it recently) then it won't support the X-T5 - at a minimum you will need version 6.0 of Lightroom and version 12.0 of Lightroom Classic
  14. If everything is manual : aperture, shutter speed and ISO then exposure compensation should show you the difference between the settings you have chosen and the exposure the camera has metered - if you change the manual settings then the exposure compensation value should change
  15. I believe this is because you didn't use the app to upgrade to 2.01 so it doesn't know your firmware version - I've seen the same thing
  16. You can't use a computer but you can use a phone or tablet: https://app.fujifilm-dsc.com/en/manual/camera_remote/technical_notes/fw_update/index.html?_ga=2.58432746.1957038805.1700899986-874112152.1692795261
  17. My request for the other raw file overlapped your post where you noted that raw conversion always showed the problem - even using X Raw Studio. The bottom line is that its best to avoid lossy compressed raw to be safe.
  18. I tried the sample you posted in X Raw Studio and it gives the same problem as the other raw converter. Can you post a link to the other raw - where X Raw Studio appears to avoid the artefacts? Its probably a good idea to avoid shooting in compressed raw as it doesn't buy you all that much space over lossless compressed. EDIT: I see you have now posted that you have the same problem with X Raw Studio - which is what I expected - the problem seems to be with the lossy compression algorithm that FujiFilm uses.
  19. Doubtful the X-T4 will get any more function updates. FujiFilm have added a more comprehensive custom setting to the X-T5 (and all the other newer cameras). But people complained about that as well - they can't win.
  20. I gave the wrong link (mine was for the X-T3) : https://fujifilm-dsc.com/en/manual/x-t4/menu_shooting/image_quality_setting/index.html#edit-save_custom_setting I don't have an X-T4 to test it out but it does look as though some affect the raw (like Raw Recording) but you do have to use the Edit Custom settings menu to make changes not the Q Menu
  21. Thats not possible on the X-T4 Here are the available custom settings: https://fujifilm-dsc.com/en/manual/x-t4/menu_shooting/image_quality_setting/index.html#edit-save_custom_setting You may be confusing the Q menu and Custom settings - they are different
  22. Maybe the 18-55 would suit you better than the 16-80 - its much smaller, lighter and less intrusive
  23. Maybe you could check the EXIF of your images from the 16-80 and find out which focal length you used the most
  24. That doesn't sound good - the cost to fix depends where you are - in the UK there is a fixed charge for the X-E3 of £138 (assuming it can be fixed)
  25. The answer depends on which camera you have - this is possible with some of the newer cameras like the X-H2S
