  1. It's possible to re-install the leaked firmware over and over. So I think when the official version comes out there won't be a problem installing
  2. Yes. But only in the center 3x3 points does there seem to be faster focus lock. Focus accuracy on the other hand seems much better on any af points.
  3. Seems to no longer pulse (mostly) if you use any of center 3x3 AF points.
  4. My findings: Tested with 35mm 1.4 @ 1.4 AFC works! It never worked for me before the update. Even for relatively static subjects. But now its great! Way more accurate. I can finally use AFC. Eye detection didn't work so well. But my lounge is dimly lit so that could be why. Overall it seems faster! I took a whole bunch of pics and they seemed to write to the card faster?? Usually my camera would blink for ages if I did that. Also reviewing pictures seems to be a bit faster. The new zone af feature is nifty. Works well. I prefer the accuracy of the single af point though. Overall awesome update. More testing for me now.
  5. Woww, now that is what I call shallow DOF. Much more so than the 35mm 1.4
  6. Oh my gosh. That's quite impressive! How do you focus that thing?
  7. I usually have the same problem. I found that either renaming the phone or the camera name seems to make it work again (temporarily). My XT1's camera name is something like "Fujifilm XT-1111111" now haha.
  8. Hello! The aperture ring works absolute fine I've shot some houses (outdoor) for a job using this adapted lens. I set the aperture to around F8, and it worked great. Haven't tried setting it any smaller than that, but I can do some tests for you later Exact model is "Metabones Nikon G Lens to Fujifilm X-Mount"
  9. Me too! I actually bought an 18-55 and took it with me during my travels, but ending up only using the 35!
  10. Agree with watcher. Just looks quite digital? I cant explain it.
  11. XE-2 is also an option. Similar control layout to the X-Pro 1 (kind of), Eye piece is on the left, EVF 95% as good as the XT1's (just as fast refresh rate, just smaller) Cheap. It's definitely a substantial speed upgrade of the XPro1. But you lose the OVF. I have the XE2 and the XT1. Some days I choose to take the XE2 for it's lightness and built-in flash. However, the controls aren't as good as XT1 though. I fumble with the ISO and AF point selection everytime I go back to the XE2. If you're on a budget and don't mind the layout of the XE2 go for that. Otherwise go for XT1. Enjoy the AF speed. then get the new firmware. Then enjoy the even faster AF speed.
  12. The X100 was my first mirrorless camera. I loved it and hated it at the same time. I loved the look, the experience, the images, and the compliments from people saying "nice camera" (haha!) I hated how slow it was! I hated the laggy EVF, I liked the OVF when it didn't back focus. I had to depart with my X100 due to a sticky aperture issue. Sold it online, and proceeded to the the XT1. Which I love by the way. I then added a second body, the XE2, so I could quickly switch between focal lengths. Which I actually rarely do.. Looking back at the images I took with the X100... and remembering the experience. I miss it! It made images with great character. I miss the 23mm focal length. I miss the OVF. The XE2 + 18mm comes close.. but it can't quite replicate the feeling of the X100. Plus the X100T hybrid viewfinder with the little digital window in the corner.. WOW! I'm having day dreams about using the X100T haha. Should I sell my XE2 to help fund the X100T?? I will be keeping the XT1 of course, but I can't keep all 3. (Because my girlfriend will beat me to death, with my cameras, if I keep them all) What to do? Opinions on X100 series vs XE series? Should I just sell all my cameras and get a Fuji Instax? HALP.

  14. XT1 + 35 My first fuji combo. Still my favourite despite have an xe2 and a few more lenses now.
  15. Handling and character are important to me too. The focus ring on the canon is kinda tiny! Oh and I love the vintage look of old lenses! The Helios looks kinda interesting! The swirly bokeh is quite unique. Kinda leaning towards either the takumar 55 or Helios now. But still keen to hear more people's thoughts. Thanks guys so far! Appreciate your opinions
  16. After deciding that the 56mm 1.2 is unobtainium I've got my mind set on adapting a vintage lens of similar focal length. Ive done some reading and I think the takumar smc 55mm 1.8 would suit me nicely. Plus its cheap as chips! But thought I'd ask you guys and see what you thought before I buy anything. Should I go with the takumar?
  17. F5.6 seems to be the lens's sweet spot. Also the focus markings are a bit off. Try setting your camera to AF (yup, not manual focus) then hit the focus assist button, then MF. I found that in AF mode it actually zooms in more than MF modes, so its even easier to nail focus. I feel like you've missed focus the tiniest bit.
  18. My second recommendation would be the Samyang 12mm. Sometimes spaces are just too crammed and 16 might not be enough. There will be distortion though so you'll have to be careful. Its also manual focus.. If you can live with that. Indoor samples
  19. Another option worth considering is the 18mm f2. I had the exact same problem. Had the 35mm and needed wider for indoor. For me, indoor meant inside restaurants. Office. House. Bars. Etc. The 18 is more than wide enough and you don't get much distortion at all. Unless you try to do head and shoulder style portraits of 1 person. But that's just silly. Lighter. Smaller. Cheaper. Awesome lens hood. Slower. Fairly boring wide (not good for landscapes). Softer corners than 18-55 if you pixel peep.
