It would be strange if X-T30 had not joystick. More imortant is if X-T30 has: - for stills improved EVF or the same crap EVF with x62 magnificatoin and short eyepoint? (i.e. A6400 has x70) - for video at least F-Log, FHD 120p ? (A6400 has them + more (Zebra, time laps)+ best AF-C/Eye) Lack of these in 2019 will be for many just enough reason to not buy it.

That 35mm f1.4 magic in other Fujinon lenses?
renes replied to petergabriel's topic in Fuji X Lenses
I can add to my first list of 'magical" Fuji lenses also 90/2 that I shot lately. Wonderful rendering with same touch and 'soul' as 35/1.4, 18/2 and 60/2.4. I have used also 23/2, 35/2 and 50/2 and their rendering is just ordinary, most unimpressed rendering I have seen in Fujis land. 16/1.4 and 23/1.4 give clinical look but they are not that boring as this f/2 trio. Best Fuji zoom is still for me 55-200mm, it has the most organic rendering in all Fujis. 56/1.2 is ok but it goes on colder and sterile side with some pastel colour, 60/2.4 is still a winner for me. Fuji should make mk2 versions of 35/1.4, 18/2, 60/2.4 and 55-200mm with exactly same lens formula but WR and newest AF motors. These are the only lenses - including 90/2 - that make I still stay with Fuji. Otherwise I would switch for sure. -
Thanks. I am affraid Fuji is not ready now to compete with Sony AF-C/Eye performance though can make some improvements that we will probably see soon via firmware update. Processing power can't be the only reason because X-T3 has it but its AF-C/Eye performace seems far behind A6400. I suspect Fuji will not change EVF in X-T30 so there will be same tiny EVF with short eye point and x62 magnification. What bothers me more is what video features X-T30 will get ? I do not think we will se 4K60p, rather 4K30p but if it does not have F-Log and FHD 120p slow motion it will be trully unimpressive Fuji camera in 2019 - for video and stills.

So we konow now that A6400 (vs X-T30) will probably have better AF-C/Face/Eye and probably much better EVF (x70 vs x62). These 2 are quite important differences. But what about video? A6400 has Hybrid Log-Gamma, S-Log2 and S-Log3, Zebra, Gamma Display and Full HD 120 fps at up to 100 Mbps! Will X-T30 offers them, at least F-log, FHD 120p and Zebra? If not it will be in 2019 waste of money.

Fujifilm X-T30 Registered Online and Coming Soon
renes replied to Fuji X Rumors's topic in Fuji X Rumors & News
If it has f-log and slow motion FHD, I will buy it, otherwise not. It will rather have Eterna and AF from X-T3. I suppose there will be huge competition in 2019 also in this segment of cameras, therefore Fuji should put in X-T30 also 4K60p, otherwise in late 2019 it will be just so so camera. I am really exicting about Z6 that is getting ProRes RAW 12 bit. If there is no crop it will be really amazing. Hope X-T30 will also be exicting. -
Use ProNegStand film simulation, -2 shadow, -2 light, -2 sharpness and NR Try to decrease also colour setting - to your taste.

I still have both and for EVF itself I prefer to use X-E2. The EVF with shorter eye-point and even a bit lower magnification is the worst part of X-E3. It's trully the worst EVF I have experienced in last few years (try Sony, Oly and Panasonic). Add its terrible eyepiece and you feel it's point-and-shot style EVF. Of course X-E2 EVF is not that great too but I see how better and more comfortable I frame with it compared to X-E3 one. I am not suppriced that X-E3 is not selling well. Fuji did big mistake bringing X-E3 with such poor EVF... same with removing d-pad and not bringing at least simple tilt LCD like X-A line have.

Fujifilm X-T3 Announced -Reviews, Samples, Videos & More
renes replied to Patrick FR's topic in Fuji X-T3 / Fuji X-T30
This does not look good to me, is it because of Samsung sensor in X-T3?: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/61677446 -
Where is Kaizen for X-E3 besides its bugs fixing? Did Fuji forget it so quickly? It would not hurt X-T2/3 sales if Fuji would bring Eterna film simulation and 120p slow motion in Full HD.

100 Iso base Bigger buttons and better placement, i.e AF-L, AE-L Tilt LCD - 3 EV focusing sensitivity NR setting for each iso value A bit smaller body Better battery Better EVF - it's poor Small 16/2 WR prime

What is your X-E3 wish list?
renes replied to bhu's topic in Fuji X-E4 / Fuji X-E3 / Fuji X-E1 / Fuji X-E2 / Fuji X-E2s
My wish list: D-Pad Bigger EVF Tilt LCD Made in Japan -
I should added "almost" in 2018. X-E3 with fixed LCD and tiny x0.62 EVF with a few buttons now look like dinosaur cam compared to competiton from Sony, Panasonic, Olympus.
-
Woul love to see first FF RF style body with EVF. Maybe a digital incarnation of Nikon SP with nice changings? With native 64iso? Amen! BTW, native 200iso in Fuji cams in 2017/18 looks like a joke. Same regards to lack of tiltable LCD in X-E3 - it's 2018!

Good point. I remember when Fuji comunity asked Fujifilm to bring "1 more Fn button" for better camera control and faster access to features but now we live in times when Fuji users are very happy when 4 Fn buttons have been ditched. It's 'smartphone' guys era. Soon we will read "LCD is enought".
-
It's simple for me - and I do not need to read Rico Pfirstinger review or other Fuji "guys" reviews to know the X-E3 value for me - it's low. Shoting mostly with VF I can't accept X-E2 successor that has only x0.62 magnification - even smaller then X-E2! I expected X-E3 at least with x.0.70 as Sony A6300/6500 has, or around it, but not that tiny EVF taken from X-30. So, this and same terrible small, narrow, a "point-and-shot' style eyepiece without eye cup, it's enough reason to give up X-E3. But there are 2 more ones that I haven't expected: 2). Lack of D-pad with Fn buttons that are very important for direct and fast access to set features. Touched LCD will sloooooooooooooooooow it! 3). Lack of tilt LCD in 2018. It's a falt. Tilt LCD is very useful in that many street/reportage situations where you need to be as descret as possible. I really hoped for it. I found it lack in any Fuji cam with corner EVF as big mistake. X-E3 is aimed for people who love to play and shot with LCD and do not count the time. Not for me. I am waiting for Nikon FF mirrorless now and also for A6500 successor that may have two more command dials - it has many Fn buttons, tilt LCD, larger x-0.70 EVF, well placed AF-L button for back AF and new 16/1.4 is expecting from Sony. We will see.

Fuji changed target group with this funny X-E3 that does not appreciate full camera control, fast and direct access to features but loves touched LCD for navigation and looking at it more then on what happens on the scene. X-E3 killed X-E line for me... look at this tiny EVF with x0.62 magn. with 'point-and-shot' style eyepiece in 2018 APS-C world! It's a joke and kiss-off many X-E users who asked for larger EVF.

Noticed it too. Fuji changed target audience with X-E3.
