frankinfuji reacted to Opteron in What does XT-2 offer over the XT-20?
- Buttons like dedicated ISO dial, metering, shooting mode etc.
- Viewfinder magnification (0,77 vs 0,62)
- Horizontal tilt of LCD screen
- Joystick for focus selection (instead of touchscreen though)
- Dual SD card slots (vs 1 slot)
- UHS II support (vs UHS I)
- 1/8000 mechanical shutter (vs 1/4000)
- 1/250 sync speed (vs 1/180)
- Buffer size (@8 fps JPEG: 83 vs 62 frames, Lossless compression RAW: 33 vs 25 frame Uncompressed RAW: 27 vs 23 frames)
- Boost mode / vertical grip advantages: headphone jack, 11 fps mechanical shutter, 30min 4K, 100 fps viewfinder, AF speed, blackout time, shutter time lag, shooting interval (see here)
Looks like a long list, but considering the price and the fact that there are no differences in image quality, it is a really good value deal.

Post your first photo from the New Year. Here's mine, low light so some high iso loss of detail, but it was the first...

AF+MF on : autofocus works as usual, but then (after AF confirmation) user can rotate focus ring to shift focus point closer or further, for his taste

frankinfuji reacted to rednckpxl in Fujifilm Camera Remote App
It works! I had the Perth Fuji guy come and visit me and together we went side by side to see what the difference was between his working Xpro2 and my "processing ok" Xpro2. A bit of this and a bit of that and finally the penny dropped! The camera rear screen MUST be in LCD (live view mode), not in the info screen that I always use. Just by habit, I have always placed the rear screen into info mode, even after countless camera resets. But today.. So problem solved - thank you Fuji. So,
1. Put the rear screen into LCD mode
2. Create the connection with your device
3. Camera Remote - shoot away!

frankinfuji reacted to Larry Bolch in Get the 56mm f1.2 lens or wait for the 50mm f2?
Or go for the 60mm which is also available. It will not do just a single eye in focus unless you are extremely close. I am far more concerned about that part that is in focus, rather than that which is out, but people do frequently praise its bokeh. It has great sharpness wide open which only gets better when stopped down a couple of stops. Its close focusing ability and flatness of field are to be appreciated. With the long range in macro mode, it is not one of the fastest to achieve focus, but a half-press will pre-focus eliminating the issue. (Develop a pre-focus habit and I am sure the f/1.2 problem would go away as well.) As a short telephoto, it is easy to use and very handy—lightweight and compact. Above all, it is highly affordable.

frankinfuji reacted to kagetora13 in Hi Fellow Photographers, Toronto Canada
Hi,
I've been a lon-term hobbiest in the Canon world since 2003. I went from a Canon G2, Rebel XSI and then finally to EOS50d. I wanted to go full frame but really did not see the right Canon camera for me but the Nikon D750 was close. After watching Fuji for the last 2 years I decided to jump for something different. I'm not fond of equipment changes. I'm more a technique kind of guy. I just started reading the forums in December and decided i should say hi.
I like to think of myself as a story teller. So my goal this year is to continue to use my camera to share my stories and experience. Play it forward in the forms.
You can find some of my stuff here:

P.S. Soon as I unlock my yahoo account i will post more photos.

frankinfuji reacted to GilBarib in X-T2: Long Track Speed Skating
Hi
From last weekend, taken at the Canada Cup Long Track Speed Skating competition in Québec City.
Close to one hundred of the best skaters in Canada were in town for a three day event, the first races in a series of four this season.
Shot with a X-T2 and the XF50-140mm with the XF1.4TC, AFC on zone (3x3 grid), on CH at 11 fps with the battery grip on boost.
I shot this event twice before, twice in 2015 with my T1..... and I got to say it, I just love my T2
PP in LR 6.7 and the Nik suite for all sharpening and Noise Reduction.
For those of you who would like to see more here is a link to the Flickr album: https://flic.kr/s/aHskHye7Vf
Thanks
Gilles
