If....... conjunction introducing a conditional clause, something that isn’t here and now and that, as far as we know, here and now, might never materialize.

  The future will naturally bring better cameras, with better everything.
 
One can spend a whole life waiting for Godot and for the next camera to come... and take no pictures in the meantime........... but we live here and now.
 
Better a ( not-so-bad) camera in your hands than a greater one in the mind of the engineers.

I’ve helped a friend yesterday with installing his firmware on his NEW camera.
 
After installing the camera firmware version 4.0, his 18-55mm firmware was still one version prior to the last (we checked it) and so we upgraded the software of the lens, separately too.
 
Upgrading the body firmware doesn’t ( necessarily) upgrade the lens firmware.

no one has to install the new software...  it is not compulsory

this is certainly a concern and given the amount of complaints from different people all over the world this cannot be dismissed as a local issue linked to misuse caused by one person 

the oversize Lolumina is a great addition to my camera.
 
For me the quality is not so much “ stability in low light” which I really don’t think is the best thing that a button like this gives you, but the fact that it allows my big hands and fingers (with poor dexterity due to hand problems) to work well with the camera.
 
I went for the large red one.
 
If you are afraid to look silly you have inconspicuous solutions too.
 
I am 120Kg.  183cm bald man often sporting hats. I am used to be conspicuous, no matter of black or whatever other color you may consider less conspicuous, would ever render me stealthy nor do I particularly care to be.
 
I often wear colorful clothes.

A lot of people would find it a great idea on paper but, given the probable cost, in the end not too many would buy it.

I am really puzzled by the scope of these continuous “ improvements” with the introduction of so many duplicates and especially of the real “ kaizen” of all this which starts looking distinctly like a “ follow the fashion of the moment” kind of thing.
 
So, any time soon a wannabe Fuji photographer would have 3 lenses in this focal range to chose from? The 35mm F 1.4, the 35mm F 2 and the 33 f 1.0?
 
It was already bad enough to see the 56mm being differentiated into an APD version and its  f-utility ( I love a good pun!   ), then they announce this shiny and eye candy 35mm 2 ( ok, that might be a sealed lens) and now another “ bokeh” lens...( I hope they don’t bother putting an aperture at all since the customer for this lens will never bother selecting any other aperture than f 1.0 , so this lens will be the most silent Fuji lens lens possible!  ).
 
What’s the point? The market is what it is. I seriously doubt that someone will switch to the Fuji system because of a lens or two to lure them in. All they do is to compete with themselves and waste productive energy which could be otherwise employed).

if there is anything revolutionary in the X Pro to come ( why 2 could be a 10?) it will be only logical that they wait for the impact of the X-T series has settled before they come with something which makes that series look obsolete.
 
Whatever will come will come later rather than sooner.

I have given it a shot (     nice pun!) , actually a few shots.
 
For now only with a 35mm and the 60 and it worked fine when it comes to face detection part of the deal ( it detected also as a “ face" a bronze head which I have a t home. As you can see, I didn’t do the eye test on the head because it has a blindfold  )  and it was a little less satisfactorily when it came to eye detection performed on my wife’s eyes ( although she doesn’t wish her image to be published on line, the eye detection wasn’t very precise with her, switching all the time from one eye to the other to no eye and selecting just face... by the way the left eye, is the subject’s left eye not the eye on the left from the person shooting   )... face detection works better but eye detection need a bit of work to be done for version 5.0 of the firmware!)

In answer to @albuzz, I have a 35 and it seems to me that it does hunt a lot less now than it did before, but its performance is far from instantaneous when transitioning from close up to far away range and when operating in low light with whitish subjects showing no or low contrast.

it is not but the new kid on the block is getting all the attention, sooner or later it too will be come yesteryear news.
 
One day ( maybe soon) my X-T1 won’t be the most advanced camera of the system. Will still take the same pictures of when it was the most advanced cameras though!
 
Just enjoy it and have no spite for something that would bring you no more joy.
 
I used to like having up to date clothes, now, I don’t care all that much anymore. I am still happy to wear shoes which I’ve bought 15 years ago and are still very nice.
