  2. well, it will probably be the ultimate streat camera which is not going to make anyone threatened and ultimately they will ALL laugh ( and not in a bad way) when you point this thing towards them. As for quality. I am seriously amazed at the quality of my X-10! If they could package a sensor and lens like that in a camera like this someone would have a winner there.
  3. if you run a google search you will find a couple of people who made direct comparison of other discussion boards. However there are many people who’ve tested both lens separately and offer tests with equal criteria.
  4. probably. My experience is also that using the smallest of the size is what makes lenses like the 60mm be less precise rather than more! The smallest of sizes causes the lens not to be able to focus. Put it one step up and all works a lot better. I had the 10-24 which is the shortest of the AF lenses and I’ve never felt the need for a smaller af point! Now I have the 12mm Samyang ( manual focus) which I rarely focus!
  5. I think that, if that was even remotely possible they would have done it already
  6. Nikon AI-S lenses are simply lenses with a slightly different bayonet than other types, ED refers to low dispersion lens elements so the two terms don’t have much to do with one another. https://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5366/~/what-is-the-difference-between-an-ai-lens,-an-ai-s-lens,-and-non-ai-lens%3F http://www.nikon.com/products/sportoptics/how_to/guide/fieldscopes/choosing/choosing_03.htm The 300 f 4.5 en the 300 f 4 are different lenses, (both can be used with a Fuji by means of adapters ) read all about it here http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/3004af.htm http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/300EDIF.htm

  9. alright we all have thoughts of our own The first autofocus camera with interchangeable lenses was the Pentax MEF https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentax_ME_F
  10. Not tremendously useful since it is widely known among Fujifilm users that ONLY Fujifilm and Zeiss are AF all the rest isn’t.
  11. have you tried clicking on it? Pictures expand.
  12. No with some lenses does show a red frame and with some other lenses doesn’t work at all.
  13. Now that this camera has become very cheap, I have been thinking of buying one a couple of times and like me several people might have done so but I wonder if tis aspect of this camera is clear to everyone. I never heard this before but as I was reading a test of the 90mm ( carried out with the X-Pro-1) on Jason Pitcher’s blog, my eye fell upon a comment which sort of horrified me ( although once it sunk in it is pretty logical that it is this way) but the OVF doesn’t work with lenses longer than the 60mm ( and I suppose shorter than something else perhaps the 18mm?). Not that it is terrible ( since there is a EVF) but it is worth thinking about it before buying.
  14. Well, then it is rather obvious that experiences (or expectations) with this lens noise level vary greatly then, because I have used this lens ( in autofocus mode ) during the recoding of a CD in an antique piano shop in Amsterdam. There was no noise that could be detected ( I used the electronic shutter) or I would have been chucked out after the first number. I am not aware of me having done any particular setting but hearing so many “ complaints” about the operational noise of the autofocus on this lens, I must have been particularly lucky. I’ve sold it now so I cannot try to replicate the noisy conditions.
  15. you should put them on the classified section of the forum, http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/classifieds/ this is the discussion section of the forum which won’t immediately tell anyone, at a glance, that you are selling your stuff. There might be some folks here specifically interested in adapted to Fuji Icarex lenses but I think that you probably, if not make more money, sell it quicker to collectors or users whom still use film and shoot with an Icarex. Incidentally, if I am not mistaken, Ica made also M42 version of the camera and lenses. Good luck!
  16. no good deed goes unpunished, was only trying to help.
  17. let’s see if I can help ( ok they won’t be F1.7 but that value is for a image that is as bad as you can possibly get) These are proper lenses ( although the cheap side of the market) http://www.ebay.com/itm/ELICAR-AUTOMATIC-CAMERA-LENS-1-2-8-f-35mm-f2-8-Manual-M42-SCREW-MOUNT-Japan-/131573115472?hash=item1ea25e6a50 http://www.ebay.com/itm/35MM-2-8-VIVITAR-LENS-M42-MOUNT-/171869031512?hash=item2804314c58 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porst-35mm-f-2-8-M42-Manual-Wide-Angle-Lens-Made-in-Japan-Metal-Body-TEST-SHOTS-/262018921328?hash=item3d018b7370 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Access-35mm-f-2-8-SQ-Wide-Lens-M42-Pentax-Screw-Fit-DSLR-Adaptable-EOS-MFT-/231688220774?hash=item35f1b1b066 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Photax-35mm-f-3-5-Paragon-Wide-Lens-M42-Pentax-Screw-Fit-DSLR-Adaptable-EOS-MFT-/331654704752?hash=item4d38292e70 these are on ebay, think of what you can find llocally
  18. Fellow forum users. Those of you who have an Iphone and use tapatalk may or may not be aware that each time that you post your phone signs your messages this way. It is unnecessary advertising for both Iphone ( which needs no more popularity!) and Tapatalk. Moreover it can be easily disabled on your phone. If you run a search on Google there are about 4.000.000 hits concerning this feature ( and how to avoid doing that) which adds nothing to your posts and is very annoying. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=sent+using+tapatalk+ Some of you blacken their camera brand and type to not advertise but don’t mind this or would never place a stamp on every picture that you make to the effect of saying “ Proudly made by using a Fujifilm camera”, and yet every post you make contains an unnecessary ad for both Apple ( I have an Imac) and this internet browser for your phone? Please, this is noting else than a courteous invitation to turn this useless function off. It can be done and won’t detract anything from your forum participation. Don’t make snarky remarks at me because they would be totally uncalled for. The spirit of this post is not being argumentative but is simply asking you to be nice to those who don’t like this without damaging you at all.
  19. so will have any cheap 35mm legacy lens that you can find on the market. but, at the very least, will provide you sharper images.
  20. I had the 35mm ( now sold only for practical purpose because I am not going to have more than 5 lenses with me) which I’ve used it on X-E1, X-M1, X-T1 and I’ve never found it “ noisy”, but that experience might vary. I was always very enthusiastic about this lens. Obviously the people at the lab didn’t think that this could be a problem of YOU lens on YOUR camera. In other words it might have been not noisy ( how do you measure this? What’s noisy for one person might not be for another!). Anyway, regardless, the way you were treated is an appalling treatment where you as customers received a very bad experience. Some folks chanche camera system on account of these things! Write the report of the whole experience and send this to the Japanese head office. They won’t change anything and st most will offer an apology, but at least they know that something is rotten in NJ!
  21. much depends, on any camera, on how you set up the AF, read about it and experiment. I have no excessive complaints on the X-T1
  22. well, other clients complained and were granted, as it should fort a production defect, a free repair ( there are two relevant threads on the matter look them up)
  23. two VERY different animals!
  24. perhaps not such a radical solution but several years ago I had a little problem with a wooden Horseman camera which I bought. The camera was not capable to reach all the movement specified in the advertising material. Since I was already a long time Horseman user ( L 45 studio camera) , I wrote to the company and appealed to their sense of honor and customer’s satisfaction. They responded with getting the camera back at their expense, fixing it to reach the promised movements, added two spirit levels at my request, made me a full member of the Horseman photographic society ( still have the certificate) and all at no cost whatsoever. Japanese do take these matters very seriously, sometimes!
  25. or you could try to get in touch with the Japanese side ( head office don’t bother with anything else) talk about the loss of honor and face for a Fuji product and they could either gently nudge the Indonesian side into sense or alternatively, send it to you! Try!
