Black Country Museum The retired Blacksmith give live demonstration about the hand forged chains that were a notable product of the area. I took this on a visit and was worried about the poor light while he was working at the back on the forge. hand making a large chain. Then he came to the front into a nice patch of light and click, I'd got him. The tool he was resting his foot on is a large forge hammer that too 3 people to heft and use to make the very large ship chains.© © Derek Barrett - all rights reserved
