Hi everyone,

first post in the forum here. Here's the reason why ;) This is a simple mechanical thing on any SLR however with my X-100T I cannot find out how to do this.

1 - I focus on something in "S" mode

2 - I know that I'm keeping the focus and switch to Manual

3 - in "M" mode the camera uses the last focus distance used in "M" but not the distance I've focused on just moments before in "S"

Obviously with a mechanic focusing mechanism like with any SLR I can switch between S, M and C and the distance will stay the same.

Anyone know if it's possible to keep the focus distance or "setting" if you will, when switching the mode?

Thanks in advance!
Christian

No. Just use AE-L/AF-L button in M for instant autofocus.

This threw me at first, but the first reply is correct - you can't just switch to MF and assume no change to focus. Instead you just switch to MF and then press the rear focus button to us AF in MF mode.

This will only, get me the middle field to focus, no AF points?

It's a work-around, but given how used I am to this method, it's something I hope to be added rather sooner than later :)

That's right. I can only recommend you to turn AE-L/AF-L button into switch and to lock focus in AF-S.

Btw my x100s doesn't change focus when I switch it from AF-S to MF.

Just checked my X100T and can confirm that focus DOES NOT change when switching from S to M. Apologies for my previous post, that was behavior I had seen in the interchangeable lenses.

Only with clutch lenses, and only when you engage MF with the clutch (as opposed to SCM switch). Actually, I perceive it as a feature, not a bug.

    • Im a Uni Student so im looking for a cheap camera primarily hahaha  I’m interested in if I could potentially fix it but idk maybe too risky. But the price is tempting tbh but couldn’t find any fixes or other people with the same problem  also: what exactly might be wrong with it and how fixable could it be
    • Is this an interesting project or are you looking for a cheap camera? Sounds risky to me but if the condition is otherwise perfect you might be able to sell it on for spares.
    • Hi everyone, I have the opportunity to buy a used Fujifilm X-T10 for around €100, possibly even way less than €100, but the body has a defect that I’d like to evaluate before making a decision. Here’s the issue: Whenever you try to manually adjust the shutter speed or aperture, the camera freezes for about 30+ seconds. In around 90% of cases, the photo won’t be taken at all. However, the camera works perfectly fine in fully automatic mode. The lenses have already been tested on another body – they work flawlessly, so it seems the issue is definitely with the body. I haven’t been able to test the camera myself yet, but from what I understand, the problem mainly affects manual adjustments (e.g. via the front or top dials). My questions: Has anyone experienced this issue before? Could it just be a faulty control dial or a bad contact, or am I potentially looking at a more serious electronics issue? Is it worth buying and repairing the camera, or is the risk too high?  Edit: Is it a high chance for a mainboard defect? Because if it isn’t the mainboard I eventually would try to fix bad contacts or a broken flex cable for example.  Thanks a lot in advance! at
    • I can't find a solution to get HSS working on my GFX 100 II. I'm using Elinchrom Five flashes with the transmitter pro for Fujifilm. Both are supposed to support HSS, and everything works fine on my Canon R5 (with the transmitter pro for Canon). With the GFX 100 II, I can't figure out how to fix the issue of the shutter curtain being visible above 1/125s. I'm using the latest firmware versions for all equipment. I've tried the shutter modes EF, M+E, and EF+E. I've also set the flash mode to manual and to Auto FP (HSS), but nothing works. Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution?
