Hello All,

New to the Fuji X system with an X-T20. Previous Camera Canon 5D Mk II.

I have been getting excellent results with hand held photography but my first outing with a tripod has me wondering.

All of my images from my tripod testing are not sharp. Using an X-T20 the 18-55 lens, mechanical shutter, high f stops, OIS off and the same tripod used with the 5D.

Using back button focus, bracketing +/- 2 stops and using the 2 sec timer.

This technique worked fine with the 5D in the Live View mode.

Shutter shock from the mechanical shutter?

Very odd.  There shouldn't be any softness due to shutter shock.

Since it sounds like you did everything correctly, I have to wonder if accidentally the S/C/M focus select got bumped and image wasn't properly focused first?  Using back button focusing, regardless of focus mode should have set focus correctly ..... should have.
