X-T2 with NP-W126 battery - usb charging and more

Hi,

I'm planning to upgrade my X-T1 for a X-T2 in next days, and I'm wondering if I should also replace my extra battery for the new 's' model.

Do you know if the USB charging from the camera would work, or if it could impact something else?

Thanks

I'm no expert, but my strong advice from reading these forums and personal experience is that the X-T2 is kind of a battery pig.

Comparatively speaking, USB plug-ins are for mobile phones. And you want two of the best batteries available for your X-T2, the one in the camera and the other fully charged one in your pocket or whatever as backup.

Hi, I also upgraded from a X-T1 to X-T2 and use the X-T1 as second body. I also use the X100f. So I'm using older Fuji batteries, third party batteries (older ones) as well as the new s batteries. All of them work fine in every camera. And all of them are recharchable in camera by usb as well. So, no worries. Does this answer your question?

I've had a few issues with the third party batteries in my X-T2/X-Pro2. I ended up buying new S batteries for spares and they work great. I have a few of the original, but have just use them for the X-Pro2 mostly. The few ocassions where I used them in the X-T2, I've not noticed any issues. It sort of seemed like it may have died quicker, but I haven't used them enough to know for sure.
