X-T2 Rear Command Dial

Hey guys,

 

On the X-T2 is there a way to either "stiffen" up the rear command dial, or turn it off?  For example I use the self-timer using the Q panel at the pack.  I activate the Q then scroll down to self timer.  I then have to rotate the rear command dial to off, 2, or 10 seconds, but it seems way too sensitive and presses in to easily.

 

Anyway to change this?  This is my biggest bug-a-boo so far.   I hate that feature.

I put the self-timer in the My Menu. It then does a fly-out where I select from off, 2, and 10 seconds with the command pad or joystick, and not the wheel. Much more positive.

Thanks guys for your responses.  I too use the Q menu, but i still find the rear command dial to easy to push in.

I find that very annoying as well. I dunno if you can disable it, tho. I dont really use the Q for that reason, what worked for me is to set the functions i use the most on the hard buttons. i have the self-timer on the Fn2 button (the one in the front next to the lens) it pops a menu to select the time and i can change it using the lever or selector buttons (or dial). So i rarely use the dial for anything other than fine-tuning the shutter speed

That dial is basically useless.  I have to be ever so gentle to the point where I have to take my fingernail and use it to rotate the rear command dial if not It's too easy to press in.
