Rented a X-100T for Thailand vacation last summer and am ready to commit to a X-T1.

I'm in the NW and today on Craigslist saw one body for $800 and another for $850.  The second listing also would include the 18-55 lens for $1155.

What are thoughts on a fair price for used body or body/18-55 set considering the recent price reductions (body - $1k and body+18-55 for $1.3k)?

Also interested in reputable used camera equipment websites as an alternative to Craisglist.

Last week I bought an excellent condition/like new black X-T1 on eBay for $740.

Fred Miranda and eBay prices are in the mid to upper $700s.

$800 seems like a fair price if in excellent condition, particularly since you're dealing locally.

KEH is perhaps the largest and most reputable dealer of used equipment.  BH, Adorama, Cameta, and Roberts are also good used resellers.

I too am researching used xt1 with and without 18-55. $1150-1200  and $850-900 seem about right for Amazon and for retailers like B&H and Adorama.

So I assume from the last comment that warranties are transferable between private parties?  What specific documents would I need and/or steps to take post transaction for Fuji to treat the warranty and authentic?

Should have checked first.   This is what I found on the Fuji USA site.

The Products contained in this package are warranted to the original end user purchaser by FUJIFILM North America Corporation (“Fujifilm”) only against defects in workmanship and materials for a period of (i) one (1) full year regarding digital camera and lens Products; and (ii) ninety (90) days regarding lithium battery, AC adapter and battery charger Products, from the date of purchase by the original end user, as documented by original computer generated or printed cash register receipt (“Warranty Period”) from an authorized FUJIFILM Products dealer (which authorized dealer does not include an authorized dealer’s third unauthorized party subdealers or sub-sellers) located within the U.S. This limited warranty does not apply to any Product purchased outside the U.S. at any time, or Products purchased from a dealer, subdealer, distributor, seller, sub-seller, or otherwise third party which has not been authorized by Fujifilm to sell the Products within the U.S. This limited warranty also does not apply to any used, second-hand, previously sold or owned, refurbished or reconditioned Products, such as, without limitation, Products purchased through websites offering pre-owned products and products which are being resold by individuals.

This is Interesting, but only for people buying in the USA.

This might be a local problem because guarantees are subject to local legislation.

Even in the EU, where a number of general rules apply, there are localized exceptions.

The general rule is that guarantees are honored by the shop where the product was bought ( should the shop fail to do that because for example they ceased operating, then it goes to the distributor and if that too is not there then there is the company which made the products) and are, generally speaking, transferable.

In the NL the minimum legally valid guarantee of two years is certainly transferable ( there is also a principle guarantee  in Dutch law that a product is covered by defects throughout the whole of its foreseeable useful life but it is complicated to enforce).

What is not transferable is what shops sell as additional guarantee , which is, in fact, an insurance contract between the original buyer and an insurance company.

I just bought a used X-T1 and the 18-55 f/2.8-f/4 "kit" lens from KEH.com - they are both in excellent condition and my total for both was just under $1100 - I believe the camera body was just under $800.  I've learned it didn't come with a strap or the small flash that comes in a new box, but I'm really happy with it :-)

    • I'm not exaggerating when I say that I have searched with great vigor (and at great expense) for a way to capture IR images with a Fujifilm camera for which I didn't have to use major amounts of sharpening to bring out the best. Zooms, primes, Fuji, Tamron, Viltrox, Sigma, Zeiss ... probably 20 lenses all told. Plus multiple IR converted Fuji cameras, X-T1, X-T3, X-T5. I even tried different ways of filtering IR, such as using the Kolari clip-ins and lens-mounted front filters. I was ready to give up until I almost accidentally tried one of the cheapest lenses out there -- the little TTArtisan 27mm F2.8. No hotspots that I could see, and best of all ABSOLUTELY SUPERB SHARPNESS across the entire frame. It's this attribute that I search for, and until now, never achieved. In my prior attempts, I listened to the advice from the "pundits", picking up a copy of the venerable Fuji 14mm F2.8, the Zeiss Touitt 12mm F2.8, Fuji 23 and 35mm F2.0, even the very similar 7Artisans 27mm F2.8, and none of them come even close to the TTArtisan for edge sharpness in infrared. Incidentally, I'm using a Kolari 720nm clip-in filter. Sure the TT has its issues -- vignetting at 2.8, tendency to flare with sunlight nearby, but all in all, this lens is glued to my X-T5 for now. This image was taken hand-held with this lens -- completely unedited!
    • Hy there When Im using the fan001 on the XH2s and I flip the LCD Screen vertically by 180 degrees then the image flips vertically, what is good but it also flips horizontally. The clean feed on HDMI is not flipping horizontally but its also flipping if the HDMI output info display is on. When I unmount the fan then the image flips only vertically. My firmware is updated to the latest version. Any ideas if there is a fix for that?
    • In reply to the original question, it all depends on what you mean by infrared.  If you mean "see thermal information", then I agree with the comments here.  However, if you mean near-infrared, the X-T4, or basically any digital camera can be modified to "see" it.  Check out Lifepixel.com and Kolarivision.com for more info. • No - I don’t think so - it means you can take pictures if you remove the lens completely - but I’m not sure that is a problem
    • I bought a manual lens over xmas and it took me a while to find the "shutter w/o lens" function in the menu settings.  So far I haven't found a way to either put that on the Q menu or marry that setting to one of the 4 custom modes.   Am I missing something? Is there a problem if I just leave that setting enabled even when the OEM auto lens is in place? tia
