  1. That's totally awesome! so I've gotten even crazier since my last post - I've now shot with the 56 1.2, 35 1.4 and an old canon 55 1.2 legacy - all manual ... results definitely were interesting ... keeper rate ... totally in the toilet ... but the battery life ?? stellar :-) I need to get another post together ... I am definitely the biggest problem - I cannot ever seem to remember which way I need to turn the foucs ring - lol :-)
  2. The fuji sports blog (featuring the x-t1 and now 56mm - lol) is back with a new post! https://fujisports.wordpress.com/2016/11/27/fuji-hits-the-hardcourt-11272016/ not gonna lie - it was about as hard as one might think :-)
  3. Way too much fun with the x-t1 and 50-140 and TC 1.4x at the circuit of the americas - super fast sports cars were so much fun to shoot! New blog post is up! https://fujisports.wordpress.com/2016/09/19/fuji-rocks-lonestar-le-mans-09162016/ There was actually a big fujifilm tent there from the biggest camera shop in Austin. I got to hold an x-t2 in my grubby paws with a 100-400 attached ... oh my ... it only took 10 seconds to figure out that the canon gear needs to be sold to fund some more fuji gear! That x-t2 was awesome for the short time I spent with it :-)
  4. Great work Matthias! Thanks for sharing - can't wait to see more awesome X-T2 sports shots coming for all you lucky X-T2 owners :-)
  5. Great shots! Man I'm sooooooooo tempted to finally ditch my canon 7D mkII and 70-200 to pay for an x-T2. I just acquired a 50-140 and am LOVING it !! I'm actually doing a sports blog (mostly because I couldn't find any other blogs showing people showing high school sports with fuji) with my adventures / misadventures over at http://fujisports.wordpress.com. I've only shot a few games (in TX, all at night - so jealous of all those day games you get to shoot!), and it's definitely been an adventure, but I'm very happy with the ability to shoot raw+jpg, and then turn around and quickly deliver the jpegs to the fans :-) I'm so pumped -up early because I'm heading to the auto races today - going to put that 50-140 and TC 1.4x thru it's paces! Thanks, Bob
  6. It's time for another installment of the fuji sports blog! Had a great time at the air show this weekend. The X-T1 and 50-140 performed admirably ... pretty soon it's going to be bye bye canon action kit !! Hope you enjoy the rambling :-) https://fujisports.wordpress.com/2016/09/12/fuji-goes-to-the-air-show-9102016/
  7. Awesome shots Gilles !! I'm looking forward to my eventual X-T2 purchase. Having a blast right now with my shiny new 50-140 and TC 1.4x teleconverter on my x-t1 and my fujisports blog :-).
  8. So this was a serious challenge for the poor little x-t1 ... absolutely bad light, but it did as well as my canon gear (spoiler alert!). Read all about it here: https://fujisports.wordpress.com/2016/09/05/fuji-goes-bull-riding-942016/
  9. wow - very nice !! Love the panning shots. what type of shutter speed do you use for those if I may ask? I'm guessing around 1/150 or slower?
  10. Great shots! Can't wait to get out during the daytime and shoot some action with the 50-140 + 1.4 TC (just got them last week :-)) Hoping for an airshow and maybe some auto racing in the near future :-)
  11. Hey all - I've decided to chronicle my adventures shooting sports/action with Fuji gear. Hope this helps anyone wanting some answers on whether it can be done or not in some not so perfect shooting conditions, which I seem to always find :-) https://fujisports.wordpress.com
  12. Thanks addicted. Well I sort of followed your suggestions :-). I bought the 60 macro for portraits and macro fun. I've b Never shot with a true macro lens so it should be fun. I think the 60 will be great for portraits based on looking at a lot of photos. I saved some $$ on the camera - decided to get an old x-e1 on eBay - not sure what it is about this camera that keeps drawing me to it - can't wait to play with it! It's more than adequate for a backup and I love the look of old legacy glass - yes the x-e2 and x-pro1 are more capable, but this will be my always with me "beater" camera - so I didn't want to invest too much. Still on the fence in my last lens - I think I could be happy with an 18 f2, a 14 2.8, a 23 1.4, a 35 1.4, or a 35 f2 With the price drop i'm leaning to the 35 f/2 , but I'm totally in love with the images from the 23 1.4 - just need to decide how much more I want to spend :-) the 18 f2 is also a great option like you said. Oh the decisions !!
  13. Wow thanks - hopefully a typo - I'll check it out :-)
  14. ok - so I think I posted this in the wrong spot before - it probably belongs here. Sorry about that :-) Ok all - looking for some advice. I have a small part time business and shoot mostly outdoor portraits (but also do a lot of events, nature/wildlife and sports outside my little biz). I've been a canon shooter, and will be keeping my 7D mkii and 70-200 2.8 for sports for now, but for all other shooting I'm switching to Fuji land. I currently have the x-t1, 18-55 f2-4 and 55-200 f/3.5 - 4.8. I really like what I've gotten thus far, but I'm looking to augment and continue to build my Fuji system out, including a backup camera. I've got a budget of about $1K US to spend, and I'm looking at what I can get for that, including used gear. I love buying used gear, so that appears to be a good route for me :-). I recently saw the rumors, so I know there is a supposed drop coming for some gear. I've looked at the everything from an old used x-e1 on keh for a backup to used/new 60mm 2.4 to the 35 f/2 and of course the 1.4 twins and the wonderful 56 1.2. New, without a price drop - one of the good lenses could do in my budget. However, when I start getting creative and pairing up a used 60mm with an old camera and maybe a reduced 35 f/2 on rumor day - I might come away with a great event/all around lens in the 35, a really nice portrait and macro lens in the 60, and squeeze in an old used x-e1 :-) or maybe on rumor day I just get a new 56 1.2 and 35 f/2, or maybe the 16-55 2.8 and sell off the 18-55 ... I don't know - I'm all over the map - help me with your creative ideas for my somewhat limited budget! Thanks, Bink http://binkdogphotography.com http://www.facebook....kdogphotography
