Hello everyone,

I am new to the forum so please forgive me if this question has already been addressed elsewhere.

Yesterday I purchased a used Fuji X-Pro1, I spent an hour playing with it in my home, learning features and setting up custom functions. The AF was very slow with the 60mm macro so I checked Firmware and saw the body was 3.20 so I downloaded the latest 3.5 update, followed the instructions and the firmware showed as updated. The camera worked for a few minutes while I played around with the AF and I tried my wireless flash trigger one more time (it wasn't working prior to the upgrade and still didn't work afterwards). Then it was powered off. A few minutes later I tried to turn it on.. and it's dead. I removed the battery and charged it over night, removed the card and reformatted in my X100, removed the lens, etc and have tried every combination of with/without to get power back with no success. I don't have an extra battery but I think I'll visit my Local camera shop and see if I can try out another.

I've emailed Fuji and will await response.

I guess what I'm wondering is if there is a "hard reset" that I can try ?

I'm rather dissappointed as I'm sure you can imagine. I bought the Xpro as a stepping stone with plans of moving from my Dslr in the new year when the new cameras are released .. I'm starting to reconsider this move now.

Any help or suggestions are well appreciated.. I've tried everything I can think of or find online.

First thing, are you still able to load the camera in the firmware upgrade mode ?

If not, yeah, your camera might be dead because of something that went wrong during the update, could have been anything and only a shipping back for repair might solve it.

On the other hand, if the upgrade mode is still active there might be a chance to salvage it either by trying the upgrade again or try to downgrade to the previous one.

Sorry to hear about this frustration especially as the camera is so new.

I updated mine to the latest firmware - the other evening and all went well.

I agree with the suggestion to try and turn it on while holding down the back button and see if it brings up the firmware update screen and see what it says and if it shows old firmware try again as there may been a glitch.

Failing that it will as suggested require a return to the original seller as there must have been a problem when sold so you are entitled to a refund.

There are some good deals around and tomorrow (Black Fri) some are selling the camera, 18, 27mm and camera case for £499.00 after that they may be back to £614 price so still an amazing deal.

Good luck whichever way you go.

hi everybody, i signed up today :-)

the trouble i have with getting FW 3.50 on my X-Pro1 and the similar version 1.30 on my XM-1 is that

both the cameras mention: "latest firmware is already installed"

Which is not the case off course, all previous updates went perfectly.

Anyone?
