Confusing Forum Name

I have been reading posts for a few years related to fujifilm cameras and lenses on the Fuji X Forum. (http://www.fujix-forum.com/). I have also been checking into news and rumours on the Fuji Rumors website for a number of years. Now another forum has been started by Fuji Rumors with almost the identical name as the existing forum. Why wasn't this one called the " Fuji Rumors Forum"?

Yes, another name may be less confusing. Perhaps that is intentional. Don't know. I personally do not care. I like how they are running this site, much better than the other one.  I can definitely tell the difference.

For example, the admins and moderators here appear to be responsive, professional, and most importantly for me do not mix their own personal opinions with their moderation duties.  Things get weird otherwise and personal bias tends to affect moderation. I hope this continues and moderators treat the forums as pure observers that keep the peace and respond to the needs of the forum members.  

 

Anyhow, it appears that this forum site is not just about Fuji related rumors.  So I don't think your suggested name would have worked.   The scope is much broader than that.

There's only one person in the world who can answer that question: The webmaster of this forum. Why don't you write him a PN?

Perhaps that is intentional.

I am positive that it is. As the admin said: “This new Fuji X Forum is the right place to discuss everything about the Fuji X System and other cameras like the Fuji X100 / X100T / X100s.” Rumours are a part of ‘everything’ but this isn’t just a rumour forum. And by the way, this is the sister forum of the German language ‘Fuji X Forum’ (which originally was a X100-centered forum, hence its domain name fuji-x100-forum.de).

I too was confused at first. Especially because the mechanics of the page layouts and overall operation of the forum seems to mirror the other forum with the same name. Although after just visiting that site I noticed that they changed their header name to the 'Original'.

 

Both have good stuff, so no problems there. But still a bit strange that they are so similar.

Yes I think both sites are valuable. Still think another name could have been chosen. If rumours doesn't encompass the content maybe "Fujifilm X Forum". To me it was like starting a new forum withe the name " DP-REVIEW".
