  2. wanted to get someone's opinion........I took a photograph in poor lighting and I'm trying different editing techniques. The first photograph is an underexposed jpg. The second is an edited version of the same RAF file using Capture One. The third one is an edited version of the same photograph, except it's a HDR merge of photographs with varying exposures. Did I gain anything by using HDR or does the regular edited version look OK? I thought they looked pretty similar.

  8. thanks........I thought about Orion as my first attempt at a tracked photo. I was playing around with my 150-600 and got Jupiter with its moons. Not much of a photo, thought it was a hoot to see the moons aligned like this.

  11. that is sooooooooooooo cool, I got a Ioptron Skyguider Pro for XMAS.............I am planning to get out soon and getting my feet wet. I've dabbled with a tripod only, I really enjoy getting out there at night.

  16. snapping turtle or great white? my wife saw this driving down the road and I shot it for fun.
  17. Not sure what this little fellow is........he was close and looking right at me, good opportunity.
  18. I believe this is a horned grebe in its winter phase.......never saw one of these before in Maryland or Delaware. Couldn't get a great photo, severely backlit.
