Izak got a reaction from Blue Zurich in Leica Monochom envy
Never buy LEICA 😉 - this cot more that GFX100S - and what is better, of course FUJIFILM.
Diff story is full frame VS crop - FF is everytime better, but monochrome sensor is not good, he only don't have bayer mask and all pixel is resolution and diff. calulation and no inerpolatin.
BUT: X-T5 have bigger resolutin, then make same, yp FF - modern SONY is better too.
But all is about PRICE VS Quality (+size and fun factor) - then GFX is price comp. - and GFX is winner in all aspect, only in size is bigger.
Fuji never make BW chip, because is useless and is possible all calculate, now we have CMOS wit no-low lowpass-filter, the is every-time sharper and better - and X-T5 - you have more datat that overexpensive leica - M - that don't have fix focus or Q - that have only one lens.

Izak got a reaction from markm7 in Test: Best Memory Cards for your Fuji X Camera
Test is OK, but i strongly rerecorded Sandisk, in history LEXAR (but i find some issue)
It is easy, in SSD best chip make SAMSUNG - and all other SSD is sh* - exept intel 😉
In SD card only some brand make chip and all other buy it a create own, often is diff. controller and some patentet feture.
All camera have compatibility list, everytime sandisk a sometime lexar and this is END.
For old camera is maybe OK kingston - in CF - on D200 work perfectly, on D810 - card error if rou use continous sghooting
SD is more funny, because never report error a continue - this is video feture, don't stop, drop some data and work - special Adata, patriot etc. is funny, if you do continuous shooting or make video etc, no card error detected, but you lose data, corrupter RAW, on standrad shooting all work - don't experiment 😉
SD is: SanDisk, Panasonic (Matsushita), Toshiba and SONY - this brand is in SD consortium, next profi brand is LEXAR, but is more expansive that sandisk - i prefer sandisk_pro UHS-I (excellent product and cost good money, yep UHS-II is better, but cost double)
For slow device alternative relative work, but we use UHS-I/II - and this is diff. story.
Why is alternative garbage ? - because buy all and only consortium own patent for controllers etc. - if alternative buy everything, then cost more that sandisk - uups, what he do?, he buy alternative controller - save money, cost less, but is only trouble maker - now you know it and buy what you want, but never say that i don't warning you 😉

Why don't you give darktable a go. It is now a great raw developper and it is free.

Izak reacted to nwinspeare in Darktable introductory course
Hello,
i just made the fifth video in my introductory course to Darktable. It is a free opensource program that uses a scene referred workflow with a linear color space. The results promise to be of a higher quality than LR or C1 that both work in a display referred workflow.

Izak reacted to nwinspeare in New tutoriels on Darktable
Hello, i started making some tutorials on the raw converter Darktable. These videos are for complete beginners.
Two epidoses are online in English and in French. Many more are to come with some practical and theoretical content.
Darktable works well with raf files and uses a scene referred linear workflow.
Here is a link to the first video in English :

You will not be disappointed with either of these lenses I can assure you of that!

Izak reacted to Herco in Recommendation on lenses for GFX100S
XF lenses do not work on GFX cameras. Their image circle isn't large enough to cover the sensor. An APS-C lens covers about 25% of a GFX sensor. Some full frame lenses work with a GFX but only restricted to a smaller part of the image (about 70% of the GFX sensor).
I've worked with the GFX50S and shortly with the GFX100 for fashion and portraits. The combination of the 32-64 and the 110 works very well. Alternative is the 45-100. For landscape I can recommend the 23. Combine that with the 45-100 and you have a nice kit covering most.
You also mention longer glass (XF50-140). Note that for GFX there's essentially one longer prime lens: the GF250, which is a bit shorter than 140mm in APS-C equiv.) and one zoom: the 100-200 (a bit over 100mm in APS-C). Both are massive and quite a burden to carry around. Fuji claims that the GFX100S is only slightly larger than a full frame mirrorless, but that's only half the story. When you take the lenses into account it is considerably larger and heavier to carry around compared to full frame.
Although the GFX platform by design is well-suited for landscape, there's only one native real landscape lens (23). I guess there's room for a wider lens there. There are some third party options but at a lower quality standard (and price level).
