  1. Interesting, I've not seen these devices before. It's worth bearing in mind if I start exceeding the capacity of my tablet.
  2. My next step is to get a Lightning to SD Card reader for my iPad. It might sound odd, but I don't carry my laptop with me; it lives on my desk at home! I find it too heavy whereas my little tablet just slips into my handbag.
  3. I only use the Apple Photos app to download and view. Like you, I don't want to be tied to it, just in case I move away from Apple. I store all my photos on my hard drive which is backed up regularly. Once I get my card reader set up, I'll be happy!
  4. The string is a pain, even on a fixed lens camera. I often found that it got entangled with camera strap. I've decided to but flat aftermarket lens caps; 99p on eBay!
  5. To my eyes, and I'm no expert, the second image looks best. In the first photo, the green in the grass looks very washed out and in the third image the blues on the boys sleeves, appear unnatural and rather dark. I am happy to be educated by someone more experienced.
  6. Ahh, thanks Stephen, I had forgotten that iPads and iPhones will read photos from cards. I have a Lightning to USB lead and also a USB card reader. I can just marry the two together and that should work fine.
  7. Great work Stephen, you obviously have a very helpful camera shop. Okay, so the bad news; this does not work on an iPad, and iPads won't connect to card readers; however can use wireless download to that; it's just rather slow. The good news is that I tried this on my friend's MacBook Pro and with Photos open, all the images came streaming in and I was able to download them all within minutes. This is good news!
  8. Please let me know if it works with cable Stephen, because I have had no luck with that whatsoever.
  9. Let us know how you get on Stephen; I have managed to get mine to work, but it is fiddly.
  10. It's tricky at first; but once you learnt how to do it, it's simple. You have to select 'Wireless Communication' on your camera, then find the camera on the phone wifi. On the iPhone you'll have all options, I don't get the geotagging option on my iPad even though it's a 3G iPad and has GPS built in. I would really love to see GPS built into Fuji cameras.
  11. Oh dear, the lens caps are not very secure at all! What's a good solution?
  12. Okay, I've worked out how to download multiple images. Just if I have to always do it wirelessly?
  13. I have two questions... I've downloaded the Fuji camera application to my iPad. It only seems to be able to download single photos. Can I download multiple photographs? Can I download using a cable connection to my iPad?
  14. Your second example more fits my modus operandi!
  15. Thanks Mike,I'm going to start off using Lightroom and see how I get on.
  16. Thanks Stephen,I've looked at the site and saved it; it looks like a good resource to supplement YouTube videos.
  17. Interesting, my Uncle prefers PhotoShop. I shall keep an open mind and see how I fare.
  18. I think I shall try one program and stick with it. I'm currently using Photoshop, but I find it difficult to navigate. However I found Lightroom fairly intuitive, but I've not used it in earnest.
  19. Good work. I assume you used Lightroom?
  20. You have certainly captured the atmosphere of a classy European restaurant. I love sparkling wine, so long as it's methode traditionale. Did you shoot these in JPG or RAW? It looks like you did a little post production work in the crop.
  21. I'm looking forward to seeing the results.
  22. Indeed, we are blessed. I love Switzerland. We all have to weigh up our own individual risks. For me I have nothing worth stealing, crime (especially burglary) is virtually zero and I like to share my experiences with my friends.
  23. Thanks for your good advice Him.Luckily I live in Qatar where the crime rate is virtually nil.
  24. Hmmm well, I don't have my camera yet; so I only looked up JPEG and RAW shooting options and that I found easily. So, I guess I was a bit premature in my statement.
