I don't get to use the XF10-24mmF4 a whole lot for work but it's really cool when I get to use it to shoot a bit wider and show off the location rather than the clothes for a few shots

charcoalblack got a reaction from ThorstenMUC in What lenses should Fuji release next?
I'd like a 23mm f/2.

Bought the lens a while back as my go-to option for landscape, fell in love with it and goes everywhere with it ever after.

IQ should never ever be your first priority of choosing a lens for your usage, focal length is.
I just can't agree with choosing 27mm simply because it's slightly better optically which tbh can only be spotted when pixel peeping.
Size and weight is a wash, and I much prefer having the aperture ring on the lens like my other X lens.
28mm is a very very popular focal length for street shots, just look at Ricoh GR and the new Leica Q. 40mm isn't wide nor versatile enough to truly capture the essence of streets imho.
I took my GR to Japan last year, and now that I shoot with Fuji the 18mm replaces it.
Here are a few examples -
The close focusing ability of the 18mm is perfect for food shot as well which the 27mm can only dream of

Some of my work from early 2015. Trying to mix it up more, working on concepts with some make-up artists.

Some more shots from the beginning. Re-edited a while later since I beefed up my Photoshop skills earlier this year...
First shot in the series was what killed my 56 APD. Autofocus motor creeked and yelled throughout the session, and this shot was the final one before I decided something was seriously wrong... You can see the focus was missed, as turned out later were 98% of all shots from this session. I sent in the lens to Fuji and got it back a few weeks later. They changed out the autofocus motor, but problems were even worse after that. Sent it back a second time. They changed the whole optical assembly, and now it seems to have been fixed.

charcoalblack reacted to sir_c in Motocross with a Summilux-R
Hello,
A few weeks ago I went to see some motocross event close to where I live. I have been there in the past, but this year was the first time with my X-T1. I brought along my XF18-55, the XF55-200 but also an adapted Leica Summilux-R. I have used this MF lens in the past on my Canon gear and its rendering is wonderful.
Focusing on fast moving subjects is pretty hard to do, so one has to use a different approach. Find a nice position along the track, where you can see the bikes coming. Prefocus on a piece of the track where you have possibility of a nice shot (e.g. after a hump, or in a bend). Set the f-stop to f/5.6 ~ f/11 for plenty DoF. Check the shutterspeed you get.
Longer ones give nicer motion blur, but your keeper rate will drop considerably. I try somthing between 1/125 and 1/400 depending on the speed of the bikes and curves in the track.
The whole set is on my Flickr, but the images are unsorted regarding lenses.

Surprised to see so many 23mm shots in this thread. These are all the 23mm on an X-T1 (all SOOC small JPGs, too).
