Sapphire73 got a reaction from FenFotos in 18-135 mm or 55-200 mm lens?
Coming back to share one of the photos taken in France with the 55-200 mm lens. We happened to be staying in a hotel room with a view over the rooftops toward Sacre Coeur. (I did not bring a tripod on this trip as we were walking most of the time so I was photographing this basilica from my hotel room, some handheld shots and some with the camera secured to the railing with a gorillapod.)

Sapphire73 got a reaction from konzy in 18-135 mm or 55-200 mm lens?
Konzy, thank you very much for the sample images and your reflections on the two lenses. Lots of great shots there! I have seen lots of great images taken with the Fuji 18-135 but it is great to see examples from both lenses in the same post. I am hoping this thread will be helpful to others as well.
I love my Canon 18-135mm lens for its versatility and would definitely reconsider getting the 18-135 for the Fuji at some point but the 55-200 seemed a good fit for now. No budget for lenses in the near future though.

Sapphire73 got a reaction from Wraithwrider in Hi from the Lake District UK
Peter, happy to hear about your foray into the Fuji world. Sounds like you have some great equipment! I have the XT-2 and the 18-55, 10-24, 35, and 55-200 lenses. Are you still shooting with your Nikon or primarily with Fuji now?
We had a lovely (quick 3 day) trip to the Lake District this summer and the weather cooperated beautifully.
Hope you to continue to enjoy your Fuji gear!

Sapphire73 got a reaction from Wraithwrider in Link To New Fuji Manual which Links to New Features Version 3.00
Wraithwrider, I was able to download the pdf file that pete1959 attached to his original post. I also followed the link that he provided, and Fuji offers two PDF downloads there. The first pdf is the user manual that reads version 2.10 on the cover. The second is the new features guide. Here is the link directly to the new features guide. (MikeG, does this link work for you?)
P.S. I have not updated the firmware yet for my XT-2 - just been too busy to grapple with it - but I am really looking forward to trying out the new features (provided in this update and the previous one).

Sapphire73 reacted to johant in 18-135 mm or 55-200 mm lens?
I have the 18-135 as a travel zoom on my X-T1. It is convenient, but not really good. Not terribly bad either.
For my next trip I only take two primes with me. For a "once in a lifetime" trip I would definitely not use the 18-135.
The photos from Stockholm were made with the 18-135:

Sapphire73 reacted to glospete in New to Fuji X - 3 questions - exif/film sim info, raw, & GPS/geotagging
I’ll let others answer points 1 and 2 but I feel able to answer number 3.
Yes it is disappointing that there is no built-in GPS but in fairness Fuji never claimed there was. Using the Fuji app to add GPS coordinates is rather clunky so what I do is this. On my iPhone I use an app called GeotagPhotos
http://www.geotagphotos.net
All is explained on their site but basically you ensure your camera has EXACTLY the same time as your phone, start the app and then it records the position where you took each photo - it actually records a track (using the phone’s built-in GPS). All your recorded routes can then be exported as a GPX file via Dropbox, email, or the web and using Lightroom or a similar program it matches the time along the route with the time you took each photo and then tags each photo with the location. Simples! I use it all the time and it works perfectly. I also get a nice route of where I took my photos as well as them being individually tagged.
