Thank you, glad to have (not) helped. Out of interest what is the record time that is showing and not changing?
-
If you watch most movies there are very few, if any, takes longer than a few minutes. Most professional movies have many short clips pieced together. It's mostly amateur movies with their interminable long sequences showing travelogues, their children's nativity play, or concert goers recording the act instead of watching and listening, which require 30 minutes or longer

Just buy the damn thing. You know you want it.

Digital stills cameras generally have a 29m 59s limit imposed on their video recording capability. This isn't a technical limit but a tax limit. If the camera were allowed to take videos longer than 30m then the camera would be classed as a video camera and would be liable for a higher rate of tax on its retail price. Most manufacturers avoid the tax by limiting the recording to just under the 30m threshold. See page 324 of the manual, it tells you there that you can't record longer than 30m. Although it doesn't take the trouble to explain why.

I tend to take pictures in the daylight, build quality isn't a concern. I have both lenses, the XC16-50 gets the most use.

Depends on when you bought it but I wouldn't recommend a repair/service. You've spent a lot of money on this camera, insist on a replacement - if it's faulty; and it sounds like it is.

I have the XF18-55 which I bought recently. The camera (XT10) came with the XC16-50. I bought the XF because it was more expensive (I know, easily led!) and it had a metal mount and it was an XF rather than an XC ( I know, easily led). I wish I hadn't. The XC is just as good as the XF, I can't tell the difference in the images with each. I shouldn't have wasted my money on the XF. I would recommend the XC16-50.

I have the 100T and the XT100 but I'm not fussed really. They're just camera my Canons get the job done just as well.

Go into the Menu and assign the red button to Movie. You can't assign that button by pressing and holding. The previous owner has assigned it to AF Mode. I have this particular button assigned to Preview Manual Exposure as I don't use my camera to take movies, I leave that to my phone.

EVF not showing exp comp result.. bug or feature?
MirrorMirror replied to voodooless's topic in Fuji X-T2 / Fuji X-T20
Ok, sorry if I was getting too personal. It's none of my business really. Just trying to help, and putting my values on your issue along the way; sorry for that. -

Fair enough. I'm similar, just an enthusiast. I would take it back, I couldn't afford to spend all that money for anything less than good working order. I still think it's a strange series of posts! You have the time to post, make a video, go to retailer with the video, but haven't the time to swap a lens to troubleshoot lens or body. Have a good Christmas. P.S. there's still no actual dark side of the moon -

You've waited over two months to troubleshoot with another lens. You don't know after two months if it's the lens or body. You've waited over two months before taking it back to the retailer. The retailer didn't know if it was the body or lens; did they not volunteer to find out for you? Exercise your consumer rights. You are relying on strangers on a forum to advise if you have a faulty set up or not. Strikes me as strange. Did you buy the camera as a kit or body only? Take it back and insist on a replacement, you have a faulty product. Make a decision for goodness sake. -
I wouldn't get the 23, I'd buy a X100T for that. Get the f1.4 35mm and have done.

I believe the option just puts the number you input into the exif data, so any number will do. Probably best to put the equivalent focal length.

Well I'm sure that if Adam (who's Adam?) said that, back in early November, then all is well; enjoy your camera. Don't worry it's probably a feature. I still know what I'd do Sorry Adam, but I don't know you from... -

And you've waited almost 2 month s, time's ticking! By all means then, ask a forum. I know what I'd do. -

Have you considered sending it back and getting a replacement. It's a lot of money for a camera that seems to be faulty. BTW you do know there isn't actually a dark side of the moon? -
No problems. From your enquiries it looks like the tool uses an Internet resource, same exiftool as above link, and that's down. Perhaps it will come back up. I've not used the tool myself but have used the standalone (not a web resource) LR plugin from the same site. It's been there for quite a few years so I expect it's a short term site down. Perhaps he's not paid his hosting fees!!

You're welcome, think nothing of it.

When you say you get lots of burst activity do you mean more than three shutter activations? Three is all I get and all I would expect - one press of the button = 3 rapid fire shutter activations.

With the XT10 the bracket selection and CH/CL are on the same dial, so you can't select bracket and continuous at the same time. I thought that was the same configuration as the XT2?
