  1. You are trying to use the camera in a way for which it was not designed. Fuji does not understand that. Fuji are wrong. You are right. Fuji are criminally negligent by not making the perfect camera for you. Fuji San should be tied to a post and shot at dawn every day for a month.
  2. Fuji don't listen to my needs. Where is the cappuccino function? Where is the ass-wipe function?
  3. Don't worry, it's not just you. They don't listen to Paul either.
  4. I would respectfully request that you stop spamming all the forums with your minor grievances. There are plenty of other cameras out there which could fill your personal needs.
  5. Oddly enough, there is a move in the opposite direction. A smart phone that isn't a phone: Panasonic has announced that the next version of its Lumix DMC-CM1 smartphone will dispense with its phone functionality to concentrate on being a camera.
  6. I don't mean to say they are unsharp, just no better than the equivalent offerings from Pentax (both K mount and m42), Nikon, Canon, Konica, Yashica etc. (from the same period). The differences in these film designs is that different coc values are used for different size sensors. The smaller the sensor, the sharper (smaller coc) the lens needs to be. Also, light travels "through" film in a straight line whereas the light is bent as it travels through the filter arrays and the surface of the sensor before reaching the bottom of the sensor pits, particularly towards the edge and corners. This last point is particularly evident when using mirrorless cameras with their short flange distances and becomes a serious problem with certain wide angle lenses with rear element very close to the sensor. Even (digital) Leicas suffer from this with enormous vignetting on certain wide lenses.
  7. The results look OK. I ordered one a while back together with the Zonlai 35mm f1.8. I'm just waiting on delivery with impatience.
  8. I would certainly think so. The "old" X-Pro1 has the choice of 3:2, 16:9 and 1:1. The frame lines in the ovf/evf and lcd all take on the aspect ratio you choose. The raw files still remain full format, 3:2.
  9. Wide open on XE1.
  10. f5.6
  11. No no, I've tried a few examples. This one was/is the better. It's as good as the photo examples you just posted, I just can't see the sharpness in those either. The prices in Europe are far higher than this. My adapter is a good one, it focuses like your's does. On a general note, I have an embarrassing collection of lenses from SLRs and rangefinders which I've adapted to digital µ43, APS-C and full frame. They each have different characteristics and "look", it's great to have choices, but for pure sharpness I've never found anything that compares to purpose designed modern, digital lenses.
  12. Back to the manual: Fuji recommends formatting new cards or cards that have been used in other cameras. All other camera manufacturers do the same. Why would you not spend the two seconds that it takes to do this? You can't be bothered?
  13. I've used the 50mm F1.8 Rollei HFT Planar adapted for Canon (full frame and crop). It's OK but nothing special, I won't bother to adapt it to Fuji X.

  18. It did bother me at first, but it seems to have speeded up all by itself after a month or so. Now it's as fast as my old X100.

  21. Just arrived today from China Optics, Hong Kong. Wall watching. by Begi Nabara, on Flickr Wall watching. by Begi Nabara, on Flickr It seems to be well made and handles and feels like a quality product, and for this price! After handling this and seeing the results I've just ordered the 50mm f2.4.
  22. On this point, what difference did the "s" bring to the X100? (and then the "t").
  23. Thank you! X100T. Wall watching. by Begi Nabara, on Flickr
  24. Just be sure to install the firmware updates for body and lenses. With these, it's a very different camera from that of the first reviews. Find them all HERE.
