  1. Is there anyone who have owned or owns a Voigtlander lens, either adapted, or with native Fuji mount that can share an opinion on what the experience look like? I do mostly street photography, and I switched to automatic lenses after having used manual lenses for quite some time. I thought, after enjoying the automatic experience, I wouldn't be able, or neither like the idea of going back to manual. But then, for pure coincidence, I put an old manual lens back on my X-Pro2 and I liked it again. Now, my old manual lenses are fun to use, and somewhat give interesting results, but aren't exceptional lenses by any mean. So, I stumbled upon the Voigtlander and I thought the render of those lenses is definitely something. But they're not exactly cheap either. Therefore, before committing, I would greatly appreciate some insights from people who actually used them on a Fuji system. I'm specifically looking at: (adaptable) Voigtlander 35 f/1.4 Voigtlander 40 f/2 (Fuji mount) Voigtlander 35 f/1.2 For some reason, the samples I saw of the 35 f/1.2 don't look as exceptional as the 35 f/1.4, but it could be a coincidence.
  2. Hi there, This is topic is mostly triggered by the curiosity to hear what other customers who have a better understanding of Fujifilm's firmware update throughout the years may think about this. I know it's purely a conjecture, just for the sake of discussion as this will have zero impact on Fujifilm's actions I'm becoming a fan of the SOOC approach, and like many others, I'm now going through the nice Film Recipes on FujiXWeekly. In particular, I've seen some nice solutions for the X-Trans IV https://fujixweekly.com/fujifilm-x-trans-iv-recipes/ I understand the X-Pro2 relies on the previous generation, the X-Trans III. Still, I'd like to hear your thoughts whether having some of those options, like Color Chrome effect, and Clarity, could add something to the X-Pro2 as well even with the X-Trans III, and if so, I'm wondering if you think Fujifilm is now done updating the X-Pro2 firmware or if there might still be a chance to get those extra, nice features. Thoughts?
  3. So, I'm not the only one! I think Fuji has a serious problem with their battery tech and at this point to me it's unacceptable. I have this issue on three different Fuji cameras. The problem is, they are all past the warranty time and if I want them serviced I have to pay. For an old X-E1 and X-E2 it may not even be worth it. I'll end up keeping the cameras as is, which sucks. Really bad, bad experience.
  4. So, it seemed to work until I took it outside, then the issue happened again. This is very frustrating. When it happened with the first camera I thought was simply bad luck, but 3 out of 4... I love Fuji, but now I'm not sure I will buy their cameras anymore.
  5. Glad the firmware worked out. BTW, I don't have a battery grip. I did the cleaning yesterday with some very, very little vinegar using a cotton swab, then a second pass with the alcohol. First tests were promising. I'll know better in the next few days.
  6. When I turn off my camera, the moment I'm going to turn it back on it doesn't work, it seems the battery are completely drained. If I remove the battery and I insert it back, then the camera turns on. This happens with the battery fully charged and I'm using an X-E2. I have the feeling the battery compartment needs some maintenance: any tips?
  7. Well, I haven't tried the X-E3, one of the things I don't think I would like is the touchscreen, never been a fan. Regardless, what I'm looking for is right at the end of my initial post: "zero latency and no blackout in the EVF". But like I said, I don't know if that's even doable in an X-E(x) body with that price range.
  8. If I'm not mistaken, the number of Fujis with DSLRs style are more than the Rangefinder style ones. The last pro model was the X-Pro2, which is still a terrific camera. And, at a cheaper cost, we have the X-3. That said, I don't see rumors about any next camera with a rangefinder style. Are, by chance, this type of camera less profitable or what? I tried the X-T10, the X-T2, great cameras, but I always go back to the X-E1, I just prefer the EVF on the left over the centered solution much better. There's so much talk about new features, IBIS, and whatnot for the new cameras, but no mention of any rangefinder. Any idea why? Personally, what I would like to see in the next X-E(x) is zero latency and no blackout in the EVF, no idea if that is achievable though. That would definitely be the biggest selling point for me.
  9. I wouldn't say the Nikon 50 1.4 is low quality. It's actually a great 50mm. Granted, it can be soft wide open, but then again which lens is not soft wide open? One stop down and it's already tack sharp. Bokeh are also beautiful from this lens, not distracting but not too soft or generic either. I think among my Nikons the only one that beats the 50 1.4 is the micro 55 2.8. As for the OP's question, I'll check when I get home as I don't remember which adapter I'm using. I definitely have some K&F which so far have worked great, but can't recall if I'm using a K&F for the Nikon as well.
  10. Hi, I just bought a used x-e1. First thing I noticed, the command dial doesn't seem to do much. I shoot manual and I'm used to the X-T10, so I was expecting the command dial to be there for a reason. I can use it to check the focus when I press it, but dialing right and left doesn't do anything. Also, is it possible to customize it? I'd like to assign either the shutter or ISO control. I have looked for a possible answer and I guess the command dial on the X-E1 is only to operate some of the menu voices and to change lens aperture? And now the bad news: after some tests, it turns out the camera renders hot pixels at high ISO
  11. Thank you, Starkman. I never used Fuji's Support, hope will be an easy task. Plus, the phone is older than a year now, so I guess the warranty is over!
  12. Hi there, I'm having a really weird issue with the battery on my X-T10. With a fully charged battery, after shooting a little (30-60 shots), the camera doesn't turn on. If I remove the battery and then I insert it again, the camera turns on again. When I check the battery level it reads fully charged. It keeps doing it. I tried several batteries, original Fuji and other brands with the same issue. Apparently, the same batteries work just fine on my wife's X-T2. Has anyone else had the same problem on the X-T10?
  13. Thank you, johant. Well, not too bad then, I don't use it anyway.
  14. I'm resuming this old post as I'm currently shooting with the X-T10. It's a great camera but as a street shooter I kind of miss the evf on the left and a smaller body. In other words, I like the X-T10 but I'm not digging the feeling. Should I go for an X-E1, what I would miss from the X-T10? I only shoot manual, with old vintage lenses and the Lens Turbo ii.
  15. Then that message was something strange. I hope there's nothing wrong with the camera, I got her the X-T2 only two months ago. The only thing I did before that happened, was updating the firmware.
  16. Hi there, Quick question: when using two cards, after the first is full, is it needed to switch off the camera or does it automatically start saving on the card #2? I'm asking this because on my wife's X-T2 at some point today she's got a warning on the screen saying to turn off the camera and then turn it on again.
  17. Too bad, thanks for confirming, Doug. Maybe it is something Fuji can add on a future firmware update. What's the best way to submit this feature request to Fuji?
  18. One thing I miss from my Sony A6000 is when I was using the manual focus assist after I zoomed in, I could move the focus area around the screen looking at different parts of the frame and thus check what I wanted to be in focus. With the X-T10 it seems I can only zoom in the center of the frame and then I can't move the focused area. Is there something I'm missing or with the X-T10 there's no way to move the focused area?
  19. And I've just found out that if you click & hold the rear command dial, the X-T10 will switch between the three mode: standard, split and peak (not sure that's the correct order though).
