I too just bought the X-Pro2. The faux pentaprism design is not for me. The better aesthetics and user experience of the rangefinder style wins. Also, I have no interest whatever in video production. The X-T2 is a great camera, just not for me. A tilt screen would be nice, but not at the cost of having to endure a faux pentaprism design. I'm very pleased that Fuji continue their policy of updating released models with the latest firmware. One of the several reasons I dropped Sony for the X.

X-E2s, X-Pro2. When I dumped my Sony gear to move to Fujifilm, I kept my RX100m3, a very capable -- though typically soulless -- genuinely pocketable "scout cam". I've never held or even seen an X-70, so it's possible I might trade for that or its successor at some point. I think it's too big, but I don't know.

I waited for the solution of the turn-off-and-on-again bug. Was about to finally spring for the camera, which I really like. Now this. Another deal breaker. Please let us know how this issue works out for you. I'm right on the edge of giving up on the Pro2.

If all you want to do is move a manual speedlight (or up to eight) off your camera farther than a short cord can reach, try the FlashQ. It's quite cheap compared to other radio remote triggers because it has almost no controls or features. And it's ridiculously tiny -- both the transmitter and receivers are about as small as is physically possible to connect to a hot shoe. Really. (You can use included short PC cables if you don't mind the little things just dangling off your lights.) I finally got mine today after the USPS got bored with randomly shipping the package from Hong Kong around the US. I've tested them (I got the 2-receiver kit) in a cursory way, and they successfully fire a Yongnuo 560 from my X-E2s. Not a tool for a serious light maven, but all I'll ever need.

Perhaps, but it would then be an act of intelligence, which is even rarer in this world than one of generosity. I thank them for their generosity or intelligence, whichever.

I'll have four upgrades to do immediately and another soon for the X-Pro2, which I'll finally be buying if the IT Crowd (turn it off and on again) bug is actually fixed.

But what about the Air 1? Yeah, I'd prefer this to the i40 as an on-camera TTL (HSS?) flash, but without an available transmitter, I'll stick with manual Yongnuos and FlashQ. Am I missing something?

Disclaimer: I'm a real novice macro photographer. I like a balance between close focus and adequate working distance. I like the idea of wide, environmental macro lenses like that Laowa, but I think it'd drive me nuts in practice with its single digit millimeter working distance. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

Got my replacement from Amazon yesterday. Chattering focus motors on this one too, but aperture ring issue gone. Yay, I guess, though Fuji QC or (worse) their design tolerances are suspect. Wish I could have the Fuji love without the Fuji anxiety. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

My brand new XF 90mm has two serious issues. I'm wondering if anyone else has seen either problem or if I'm missing something. I have a few other XF lenses (16mm, 27mm, 35mm2.0, 56mm) and none of them exhibits these issues. (1) When the camera is turned on, the lens makes an irregular but unceasing sound that seems to me a bit quieter than, but otherwise identical to, the normal focusing sound. The camera (X-E2s, v1.01) is in AF-S mode with Pre-AF OFF. Am I missing a setting that might cause this? (2) The aperture ring's position is not being properly communicated. When the ring is turned to f/2 the camera indication (EVF and LCD) sticks at f/2.2. It can be coaxed into f/2 by repeated tries. Furthermore, the ring always fails to register the first third-stop when turned from the last stop at the end of its play (f/2 or f/16). As the ring is turned more, it continues to be one-third stop off (with respect to the camera's indicated aperture). So, I guess back to Amazon.

I fear this is a very stupid question, but I haven't given any attention to adapting lenses to the X-mount. Did you get a Tamron with VC, and does the adapter supply voltage and does it actually work? Seems extremely unlikely to me, but...

Lowepro Event Messenger 100. Hardly stylish, but otherwise perfect in my opinion. Room for a small camera with lens and another lens. I have an E2s, so maybe the T1 might make things a slightly too tight fit, but I doubt it. I'm using slightly bigger lenses than you are.

I've used the Cuff and Leash. I've given up on them though. It's not the Leash's fault. I've just decided that my style requires a very small bag (Lowepro Event Messenger 100) and a camera with a wrist strap. No more shoulder/cross-body straps. I use the camera, and when I'm temporarily done it goes back in the bag. I know this is not a common shooting style. I don't need quick access to my camera at all times to shoot what I shoot. The Cuff is another story. I like the anchor concept in principle, but in practice I'd rather just keep the strap on the camera and slide my hand in and out frequently. The anchor system is just too fiddly and seems always in my way. So, I've got a Gordy's on order. I'll see how that works out. You'd think camera straps would be simple things. But no.

I have that bag too, but my daily bag is its little brother, the Event Messenger 100. It's just right for me, doesn't look like it costs much (less desirable target), and is easy to use. I almost never have need for a bag that can carry more than my camera (X-E2S for now) with a wrist strap, an additional lens, and some small items like batteries, a lens pen, and memory cards. So the 100 is perfect. I almost never use the 150 nor my Transit Sling 250 AW -- both are just way too big for my needs. Of course, I have idiosyncratic needs. I don't travel much at all, mostly doing solo photo walks within a few miles of my home. On any day I'll choose a prime and take one alternate prime or the 18-55mm in case I change my mind. What I shoot will depend on what I have. Usually just the prime I have on the camera when I walk out the door.

The long macro. 100mm, right? No autofocus needed, just the x-mount. [uPDATE: I obviously need some sleep. The lens I'm talking about has been available in x-mount form for ages.]

I've been waiting to accumulate some money for the X-Pro2, and now I'm also stalling because of these issues. You're making me think about going back to the future. Thanks. Hmmmm....

I'm a retired software engineer who decided to get back into photography as an enthusiastic hobbyist about a year ago. I had enjoyed a modest darkroom and a simple rangefinder camera when I was a kid, but I hadn't taken anything but rare snapshots in over 50 years. After a little research I bought a Sony A6000 and a few of the cheaper e-mount lenses. I was happy with that kit, but as I read about Fuji gear I recognized that the usability engineering of the X-series offered something I was missing. I happened to notice the Fujifilm sale that ended a while ago and decided to jump to Fuji while the deals were there on the glass. So now I'm very happy with an X-E2S and a nice, though still small, collection of quality lenses. My plan is to replenish my savings and purchase an X-Pro2 and another lens or two when the current teething problems are resolved and, I hope, the price of the Pro2 drops a bit. Obviously, I'm a rangefinder-style guy. I've sold almost all my Sony gear, except a standalone, genuinely pocketable RX100M3 "scout cam", which I keep with me at all times. (No desire to get into this now in detail. but NEVER try to sell used equipment on Amazon FBA. The seller side of Amazon is the evil twin of the Amazon buyer experience. Really maddening.) [uPDATE] Added more lenses. Currently waiting for a preordered XF 80 f/2.8 Macro, which will complete my collection. My favorite, by far, is the XF 16 f/1.4, though the new macro is what I've been waiting for what seems like years.

My preferred order of importance: Tilting screen (with minimal form-factor impact). X-trans3 24MP sensor. AF point joystick. Very high magnification viewfinder. Some Fuji-ish solution to the ISO UI issue. (It needs to be nearer to the surface of the UI.)

Disappointed! Better be 1:1 and at least 80ish. And this year. Or I'll pound my fists on my high chair and throw my oat meal in the general direction of Fuji.

In the shooting menu, look for INSTANT AF SETTING and set it to AF-C. The "ghetto way" is what Fuji call "Instanf AF". (I'm just a prospective Pro2 buyer, waiting for some of the bugs to get sorted out, but I've RTFMed.)

Not happy about this. Was really hoping to get the 1:1 macro before summer.
