I don't have that lens but I find the demosaicing is superior to Lightroom.

I have just come back from Mongolia and I had this lens with me. Build quality great. However there is a clunking sound when turning the lens upside down. I was worried a bit about having a faulty lens but then I did some research and it is apparently caused by moving magnets inside the lens and it is normal. I would be little happier if Fuji somehow addressed this in their future lenses. Optically it is one of the best lenses Fuji ever produced. I have nothing bad to say about it (based on one trip so still limited experience). OIS is great and it was one of the reasons I went for this rather than 90mm. It is also more versatile. The real downside is weight. It is the heavies lens that Fuji made to date. Size is almost same as my old Nikkor 80-200mm althoug touch lighter. Whole premise to move to Fuji was cutting down on weight so why this lens? It is heavy for traveling or climbing which I occasionally do but it is so good optically that I decided to bite the bullet. If size and price is no concern, then it is a lens to have.

Fuji X video...is it really as bad as everyone says?
rsimko replied to Prabbit's topic in General Discussion
Any suggestions on post? How far can the file be pushed before it breaks. I have feeling that threshold is very low at the moment. Also, did anybody try something like flat picture profile or you guys just use the photo simulation presets in the camera. I would actually welcome better video capabilities. I do not want to have another system just for video especially when I am traveling. That is more lenses, more cables, more chargers. Would be nice to do reasonable work withing one system. I don't want to break into Hollywood or so but I am also beyond family movies. -

Portable solar charging solutions
-
I am going to test this setup. Power traveler Extreme + Watson chargers. I don't expect wonders but let's see.
-
Power traveler Expedition kit has a nice crank, and it seems with some sort of gear but it only comes as a whole kit with some other stuff at high pricetag. Crank seems to be more user friendly, much more natural to hold. But that price..... https://www.powertraveller.com/en/shop/portable-chargers/outdoor-adventure/powermonkey-expedition/

Hello guys, I would love to throw this out to see who has experience with this. Did anybody worked out a portable solution for charging camera batteries that will last few days? I am going to Mongolia and even with few batteries in pack I am afraid of running out of juice. Most affordable power banks allow for 2-3 extra charges charges but that doesn't suffice when one is out an about for days. Solar panel with combination of power bank seems as viable options, question is does anybody have real world experience with this?

Making prints from Fuji X-Trans files

That panel was at least 1m wide so 70-80cm on the long side is pretty realistic. Aceflibble, you are right. Even myself, I always come very close and scrutinize the print I call it professional deformation.

Yeah. I am going to try to find out. There is Fujifilm showroom in Singapore with some prints displayed. I will ask. Here are some examples I shot at Fijifilm event with my mobile phone. Unfortunately I have no size reference but still, you can sense these are big prints.

Nice set of useful links. Thanks milandro

I have been on Fuji event in Singapore couple of weeks back and they had quite big prints there which I examined quite closely. They looked excellent even if I was standing very close to them while quite big (some at least 1, in width). Unfortunately there was none around who could tell me something more about the prints. Thanks for input though.

Hello all, I wanted to open this thread to discuss printing from Fuji X-trans files. I don't have too much experience. So far I only made Blurb book 12x12 inch. It came out pretty good but I am more interested about big wall prints. How far you can push the size, how big you can go to retain reasonable detail, quality of print on different surfaces etc. If you have any experience please share. I know there are general rules about print sizes but I have seen prints that defy them. I mean prints that are bigger you would expect from 16mpix file while retaining details visible even from reasonable close inspection.

X-T1/X-T10 and the Weather Sealing... just a Gimmick or a Must Have Feature?

I took had my cameras in dust, monsoon rains of Asia, freezing snowy environment above 6000m, in Himalayas. Weather sealing is definitely welcome for me. At least for peace of mind.

How to trigger my Nikon SB-900 flashes
rsimko replied to Miker's topic in Flash Photography with Fuji X
+1 on Cactus V6. I am new to this as well and was able to make it reliably work. And it has ton of good references too. -
Hey folks, my name is Richard. I am from Slovakia, currently based in Singapore. I work as visual effect artist creating visual effects for movies. I am photographing since 2008. I started with Fuji S3 Pro. That camera used Nikon lenses so after the body died I started to use Nikons for number of years. As of 2 weeks ago I am fully Fuji again. I do not own DSLR any more and I have one more Nikkor lens to sell. I mostly photograph travel, landscape, documentary work. I am trying to get more into flash and studio photography just to broaden my skills but traveling is where my photographic heart is. I do not make money with photographs and if you are interested to see some go to richardsimko.com That;s about it Looking forward to great conversations and new friendships.
