Sure.  Differentiates from the upper lines, not everyone needs 40mp and the large file sizes, and with the newer processor, can give much better AF and some room for similar features like newer film sims that it didn’t have before.  The sensor was good, so if you’re looking for 26mp density why not use it.  Hell it’s more than my Canon 5D mkIII.

This is pretty common in the digital camera realm. No surprises to me. New models aren't always revolutionary, some are just incremental bumps. Of course you always have the group who clamors for the best features on lower tier bodies....🤔
