Xt3 images fine when taken but dark when playback and upload

I used an Xt1 for 6 years which I loved but recently upgraded to Xt3. When trying to take photos indoors in well-lit room (ISO3200, f4.5, 1/125) they look fine on screen and EVF, but in playback and upload they are almost black. Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

Perhaps the settings of the preview mode or the display. Take a look here https://fujifilm-dsc.com/en/manual/x-t3/menu_setup/screen_set-up/index.html

Also, watch the exposure meter when shooting.

Do you have a sample scaled down image you can upload so we can see what is happening? Along with the settings, of course, which depending on your image editor may still be embedded in the image.
